Default How Much is Enough...

When playing online, do you have a set minimum amount set for yourself to reach before you will cash out, or do you just cash out periodically as you go along?

One buddy of mine says he gets up to $400, withdraws $300, then builds the remaining $100 up again.

Another buddy of mine says he will not touch his bankroll until he reaches $2000.

So it sparked my curiosity to see what your opinions are on when to cash out?

To answer your question "how much is enough", I'd say that only waaaay too much is enough.

Actually, I play the month, then take my winnings out at the end of the month and leave $2500 in my account. I've got my rakeback saved up so if I hit a losing month, I'll just reload back up to $2500 from the rakeback I've got saved. Sometimes I cash out $1500+, sometimes only a few hundred, but I do it at the end of each month.

I am personally trying to work my way up the ladder, up to $2/4 NL or eventually $5/10 if I am disciplined enough and learn enough. I think I want to start cashing out if I get 7.5-8k on Full Tilt, so I have enough to play $2/4 and then cash out what I need to pay my bills and live for the month.

So I guess the short answer is, I dont cash out yet.

I will not cash out less than 1000. I like having the money if needed, but not necessarily having it with me. I play a lot of live poker also, so I try to keep my onn hand cash limited.

"how much is enough?"

Well that depends on your goal. Do you play for a hobby, or are you in it for the long haul?

I personally worth with a method like this:

I ALWAYS keep 50 (yes,I am a nit) buy-in's for the game I play. (Usually $2/$4 NL-$3/$6)

I figure out my total monthly bills/expenses. That I withdrawl at the begining of every month.

I than cash out $400 per week, every week as my "money". I cash this out whether I won 20k,$1 or even lost money.

Lets say I had an unbelievable month where I profited double what I normally make. I put 50% (Normal winnings) back into cashier, I take 25% and leave back in cashier as a nice profit, working towards moving up in levels, and I take 25% of it out as a bonus.

I know that was broad, but that is basically how I work it.

Thanks,
