Default Adding Rakeback on existing account?

Hi,

I'm reading everywhere that rakeback is something added on new accounts only but it makes sense that very good players CAN have a rakeback on their actual account without passing through a tricky fake new account creation... Are you used to be contacted directly by poker rooms or do you do yourself the first move and ask the poker room for rakeback if you're yet playing since months and winning a nice amount?
There is something I miss in the rakeback world sorry to bother you

'Lava

Adding Rakeback on existing account? aye then it seems you've replied here to my thread...
Old accounts and many pros are playing without rakeback due to that?

that's a strange idea, it could push a part of them to other poker rooms...

1. no you cannot get rakeback on existing accounts

2. you do not ask the site for it. rakeback is given by a 3rd party site (such as Rakeback.com | Helping Players Save Money Since 2004).

3. rakeback is an incentive that poker sites give to affiliates for referring new players to them. if you signed up directly with the poker site, there's no incentive for them to give you anything other than normal bonuses.

Indeed, well stated above. Rakeback's #1 concern is bringing NEW players to poker sites. This is why poker sites team up with Rakeback...it's a win/win for everyone involved.

The poker site makes money when new players sign up, Rakeback makes their cut, while the new players get a piece as well.

If all current players received rakeback, there would be no need for poker sites to promote themselves using affiliates such as Rakeback.

I respectfully disagree lil lady. In my situation I play on Cake Poker and Ultimate Bet typically because I receive rakeback on those sites. But if I could add rakeback to my existing Full Tilt account I would play exclusively on there because I like the software. So although I'm not technically a new customer, I would deposit onto their site if I could get rakeback.

I understand your point, but my point is that these poker sites are primarily concerned with growing......therefore, by this means of advertising and promotion, it is moreso in their benefit to offer rewards to new players. I have been in marketing and advertising, so believe me...if a company does not grow, it does not flourish.

The only way any business can continue to be profitable and flourish is by way of growth. By offering everyone the same deal, there is no real incentive for new players, thus the new players will look for other places to go who offer new player deals. So all that potential profit that could've been made is lost to other competitors.

Think of it this way....say you own a store that offers the same basic products as another store, but you don't offer any special deals for new customers.

Now, your store is down the street from another store which offers 10% discounts to new customers who sign up for their special store coupon card.

Which store do you think will receive more new customers, and make more money??

The basic concept is, that even though your current customers receive the same products, new customers have no incentive to shop at your store versus the other, so more new customers will pass you up in order to shop at the store which offers the incentive.

So, although your store may keep a steady flow of regular customers, the other store will profit far more in the long run.

Thanks for your answers, I've read carefully and I understand now an important point : a site inside a poker network will earn much more from very good new players than a stand alone poker room as FullTilt Poker
I bet that's the reason why FullTilt won't make a special rakeback deal to their good actual players.

Some info from our FAQ

5. Can I get rakeback to a poker room where I already have an account?
No. Our rakeback loyalty programs are for new accounts only, unless stated otherwise. Why? See the 9. Where rakeback payments come from? section further down this page for explanation.

9. Where rakeback payments come from?
Rakeback.com has signed an affiliate contract with each respective rakeback poker room. We agree to refer new players to these poker rooms, and they in turn will pay Rakeback.com a share of the lifetime profit that our players generate. The rakeback loyalty payments are made from this commission we get for referring loyal customers to their poker room. Since the poker rooms know exactly how much rake you generate, we are able to pay you rakeback accordingly.

So in effect you pay rake to the poker room, the poker room pays Rakeback.com a part of your rake as commission, and we will in turn pay you rakeback from our commission.

Since we only get commission on players that register a new account to a poker room with our link/code, we unfortunately cannot pay rakeback to players with an existing account at the poker room.

Default existing account = No rakeback

i see what point is trying to be made but Fulltilt is pissing off its customers and driving them away. Why would i continue to play on fulltilt if i could open another account with another site and start receiving rake.

If a store down the street gives new customers a 10% discount for life while its previous customers receive no discount, i would feel unwanted as a customer and would go somewhere else that would give me that 10% discount. I wouldnt go back to the store that refused my discount. Now that original store loses my money. Is that growth?

Full tilt may be growing in new customers but its shrinking in exciting players.

Its just seems stupid to me.

^^^^ Definitely missing all points... I give up...

Bottom line, no matter how much you or anyone else complains, it isn't changing. Like it or leave it. That's just the way it is.
