i really dont like how full tilt takes bonuses off of your rb. is there a way to use the points they give you without cutting into your rb?

I dont think there is any way to use the points without losing rakeback. I'm still looking/waiting for a way.

Remember, for every 1000 points you cash you get $5. in value (this could be disputed because you could by similar or exact items for less money elsewhere). The rakeback loss on this is $5 x 27%= $1.35

$5. - $1.35 = $3.65 - So you still receive a "net" benefit of $3.65 for every 1000 points cashed, after rakeback loss.

Maybe using them in a tourney or sng is a better option than buying items.

clearing a bonus is equal to about $.42 for every dollar in turny rake rb is .27 for evry doll. so the bonuses are not such a bad deal. now are you talking bout iron man mid year bonus? this is the first time ive gotten it and i dont know if it will come out of rb. but ill take the bonus deal any day its almost 50% rb

anyone know if you use the medals to buy points then use the points to "buy' something if it effects rakeback or not?

I am sure it will but just wanted a verification.

I am not aware of any way to use Full Tilt Points that would not trigger the $0.005 points deduction.

Most poker rooms deduct bonuses from rake, before rakeback is calculated. Its a pretty standard practice, and logical since rakeback comes from sharing the revenue that the poker room makes from you. If the poker room gives you more bonus than you pay in rake, then you make a loss to the poker room, and there is no rake revenue to share back to you as rakeback.

That said, for example the Absolute Poker rakeback program does not currently make any bonus deduction to your rake. Give Absolute a go.

Not in general, but when that bonus is cleared then of course there will be no more deductions for it. If you get another bonus later on, that bonus will also be deducted against your Gross Rake and FTP rakeback.

Here is what Full Tilt has said to us about using Iron Man medals (I better add this to the Rakeback FAQ):
If a player uses medals to buy a cash bonus then this works in the same way a deposit bonus would work so that would count as a bonus deduction.

The medals that are used to gain entry into a tournament will not effect a players rakeback. But if the player uses the medals for entry into a guaranteed tournament and the guarantee isn't met then it will go down under Player Added.

Correct. Full Tilt Points used on the site or in the store are deducted at a rate of $0.005 per point, so 5000 used points equals a $25 deduction to your rake, meaning $6.75 less of 27% rakeback.

so i suppose the only way to get around it is to save all my points until i have like a few million, spend them, and quit poker forever.
Would my FT acct go into a negative balance if i never played on there again?

Not your account but your rake would be negative. So when you started playing you would need to dig your way out from that negative rake before you started getting rakeback again.

The Used Points deduction only affects your rakeback and not your Full Tilt Poker account money. So if you will spend all you points even if it will be millions of points lol only your rakeback balance will be affected it will be in deep sh... minus so when you will realise that you want to play again and get rake back you will need first to, as frob23 said, dig your way out from that negative rake before you start getting rakeback again.

Default new question

I played a 15ftp 180 man sng that I won for a ftops sat entry (obv brag.. my rakeback is now negative. Do I lose rakeback because I used the 15 ftp points or because I won 2500 worth of ftp points? possibly both? Thanks for any help.
