Using FTP points

So i read that each point is used at a rate of .05 per point. If i were to buy a FTP jersey for 25,000 points, i would be technically down -1,250? (meaning i would have to earn more than that for that month on FTP to be getting any rakeback at all?)
any help in this area would be useful, even though im sure it has been answered many times! thanks!

If this helps or not, I don't know, but last month I ordered 13k in items from the store and it cost me about $20 in rakeback.

So - while FTP's are worth .06 while releasing a bonus htey are only deducted at a rate of .005 against your rakeback when you spend them. Hope this helps. GL.

All I know is u gonna have to play your butt off at .05 points earned per to get to your desired goal of 25k for a jersey. Just for kicks, which 1 were u wanting to get with your eventual points?

I just got my FT hat in the mail today, next is jersey, 25k point is only $125 in rake deductions, not bad considering it will only cost me 27% of that, or $33 or so. Hockey Jersey btw, all planned out, gold iron man 4 months consecutively, use the medals for 5k points whenever i have 150 medals, then an average of 3k points in the cash games a month, it will be close to 4 months from now when I have the points. 2k points right now, cant wait until june/july!

So, any FTP points we use, in any Point Tourneys or in the FTP store are taken from our rakeback?

I think I can help everybody out here. I did a lot of things in January that go against rakeback, so maybe this will help you guys understand how it works. I used my points to get a 50inch plasma, turned in ironman medals for a bonus and played in the ironman tourney. Here goes:

Gross Rake $4396.97
TV (523,455 pts X .005) - 2617.28
Ironman bonus - 100.00
Ironman tourney - 70.59
Net Rake $1609.10
Rakeback (Net X .27) $ 434.46

For the original poster, you said your jersey cost 25k in pts. So, say you did like $1000 in gross rake. Here's how it would work for you:

Gross Rake $1000.00
Jersey (25000 X .005) - 125.00
Net Rake $ 875.00
Rakeback (Net X .27) $ 236.25

i miss read it to be .05 per point, instead of the actual .005, and also didn't know it came out of gross rake... so that definately clear a lot of stuff up! thanks a ton! (so basically with 27% rakeback - the jersey is equivalent of 33$ real dollars off net rake if you wanted to do 125 gross rake x .27 and also subtract the value of the actual jersey in ftp points. ebay has em on there for about 60 some... might be worth it?
