4 is the most I've tried.

There was a week where I decided to play 9 tables at a time of the $2 HU turbos on FTP. I did it for 5 days 2 hours a day and came out with an ROI of like 0.6% and finally said screw it. I was not playing well at all. I don't even think I knew what I was doing half the time, it was way too much for me.

2 tables seems to be the most that I can play at one time and be successful. Playing four tables of those HU super turbos on FTP must have been crazy.

I play one table for heads up, I don't like my opponents waiting for me because I am busy on other tables.

If you generally multitable placing the tables in a tile mode then for heads up play with 3 or more tables you may want to consider the cascade tables layout.
Given that your turn to act happens pretty much at the same time on all the tables you will not have to move the cursor all around the screen in search of tiny buttons.

I played six once, but it was pretty nuts. The only reason I was even willing to try that many was because it was all against one opponent. Playing any more than two opponents simultaneously just gets impossible.

If I can get a real fish to open them up with me, I'll play as many as he can handle.

I never play more than 2 opponents at the same time, but I'll open up to 4 tables usually.

I don't play heads up tables specifically but I will starts 6-max tables and if the game breaks but I know the remaining guy is bad, I'll continue heads up with them.

I try to keep it around 2-3 max though. It's too much to focus on, especially since I usually have full tables going too.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.
