I see that you are 23rd on the rake race list today.
Good luck today staying ahead of those other two jokers!
I'm rooting for ya.

Which rake race list? The one on PN's site? I can't see today how I finished out. But I doubt it was too well. I stopped playing a couple hours after you posted this and called it a day. I think I will be 10th or 11th in the raked hands race (which doesn't have anything to do with total rake). Depends on if the people ahead of me are qualified to be in it. Apparently some affiliates DQ you from the raked hands race (not rakeback.com thankfully).
March was nasty for me. One of the worst month's I've ever had. But I got like $223 in rakeback... so that helps make it a little better. LOL... that means I raked like $638.49 in rake... $415ish which they kept... 4,150 VIP points... which won't count for much. I should see what I can get for them.
It would be awesome if I placed in the leaderboard... that's more bonus money. Which would make the month better.![]()
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.
LOL, apparently I was up there on the list.
I did get a bonus... actually, it shows I got two. But one might be an error and I am not holding my breath about it.![]()

Hey frob,
I was referring to this promotion:
http://www.rakeback.com/promotions/m...ve-joint-room/
You were on the list at the end of March, but I think it has continued to update since March 31st, so you have since dropped off. But, if it ended on March 31st, then I'm pretty sure you made some extra dough.
I haven't been paid out for this yet though.
Yeah, I don't think I did place. My rake was slightly less than the person at the bottom ranking. I play stakes that are too low to really do well in the gross rake races. But wait!!! This month RB.com is having a promotion at Nordica that pay two tables... one based on rake and the other on hands played! That's great because I can put in some volume! No... wait...
To be honest, I am a little frustrated with the promotions here right now. The current Nordica promotion is destined to screw me over. I figure I will very easily place in the top 3 in number of raked hands ($200/$100/$100)... and very likely place 1st in raked hands. Unless there is someone from RB.com that wasn't on that list but is currently beating me on the list PN maintains for their own raked hands race. I don't think that's likely. Anyway... say I only get 3rd... $100. Well... I am also placing on the "gross rake" table. But, since I play such small limits (mostly 4nl this month with some 10nl)... I stand very little chance of placing much higher than I currently am (7th). That placement is worth $75. But... here's the clincher... you can only win one (fair enough) AND they go by the "gross rake" table first. So, since I place on that, I am not considered in the number of raked hands placement. I basically lose $25-$125 (if I got 1st in the number of hands) in value because of how they set the promotion up.
This is despite the fact that the raked hands part of it was aimed at players like myself... those putting in high volume but at low stakes so they wouldn't do well on the "gross rake" side of the promotion.![]()
*sigh*
There's really no point in ranting about it. I contacted "promotions" and their response was basically, "Well, that's the way we set it up and it's not going to change." I am shocked that no one thought of that possibility before they set the promotion up... or they did and didn't care enough to make a simple change where the player would win the larger of the two amounts and then be removed from the other ranking. So it's too late now. But I'm upset about it. That's a significant amount of buy-ins when playing 4NL-10NL.
Edit: Actually, there is at least one RB.com player that is beating me in volume according to the chart on their site... he's also on the Gross Rake table. But currently he's in a spot destined for $100... so he's potentially going to lose $100 in value unless he manages to move up to the #1 or #2 spot -- where he would win an equal or greater amount than the number of hands table.

Yeah, this sucks for you, coming from a staff/player perspective. It's mostly due to the small # of players we have at Nordica. The fact that you're on the Rake Race leader board playing NL4 and NL10 speaks to that, to be frank.
Theoretically, you should have 0 chance to be on that board.
We have noted your suggestion that the higher of any two prizes should be awarded in the future, and while I'm sure it still pisses you off now, I hope at some stage you'll get at least a bit of satisfaction from knowing that you've helped shape policy around here.
As we have only started running promotions here at Rakeback.com within the last year or so, everything is new, and mistakes will happen. My hope is that we learn from mistakes like this and correct things in the future.
Best of luck,

You are alive! I missed your post on the 12th. What have you been up to the last 8ish weeks?
Hi FlipCoach,
Do you work for rakeback.com, Poker Nordica, or both?
If you have any pull at Poker Nordica, I have an idea for their VIP system.
Frob,
That is a tough one, I didn't realize the difference in payouts. I'm still pretty sure you were on March's 8-room race leaderboard as of April 1st, but perhaps it wasn't official.
At least you got some friends on your side looking out for you!
