Depends; I enjoy playing live with friends and family so we can enjoy some conversation and the company of people as well as the fun of the game. However, I do enjoy playing online for times when I just want to play and don't have the time to organize a live game.

I've actually never played live because there's nowhere really that close to me and I don't want to chance private games. There actually was a big bust involving those in my area recently. That's gonna change soon though since West Virginia recently legalized table games. I'm really looking forward to playing live!

You are being paranoid, as long as there isnt a rake, home games are legal

I prefer playing live games. There seems to be less bad beats at the live games in the casino as opposed to online. The only good thing I like about online is that I don't have to drive anywhere.

    Default Online easier to cheat?

I am suspicious by nature anyway have been playing online more recently and like the convenience of it. But back in my mind there is this nagging feeling that the online game one can be put at a disadvantage easier than live.

One example; in a 6 max game online.
3 of the 6 players are connected and each of them know what the other 2 have face down
that as far as Im concerned is a big dis-advantage if you are facing a group of connected players....anyone disagree

Of course it's a disadvantage. If they get caught doing this too they'll get in trouble. We've had members of this forum have reimbursements sent to them because of this very thing. If you ever suspect you have been victimized by collusion, you should report it.

When I see ancient forums like this I wonder if all the old posters either went busto, died, or a combination of both.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

Haha yeah... there are a few that I've noticed in other threads with really large post counts too and were people I had never seen before.

I like more live playing, because if your'e playing with your friends it's more interesting. However, playing online is better if you want to play poker any time and you don't need to go anywhear.

I only play on line right now due to having no money to go to the casino's. My wish would be to get into a live game someday.

I prefer online at least No Limit Holdem:
    1) You can multitable.
    2) You can concentrate only on the game.
    3) You are playing much more hands per hour.
    4) You have HUD.
    5) You see pot and others' stack exactly.

    Contra vs. Live
    1) In live games I'm usually play 1 hand per 5-10 minutes since I'm TAG and the rest of the time I'm looking to other's play and it's little bit bored.
    2) I have to drink a lot and everybody's smoking (Anyway not big problem).
    3) Extremely long shuffling.

Unfortunately my friends do not play Omaha. I think it would be more fun.

Anyway this weekend I lost ~100 USD on NL10 after reading the Blueprint by Nguen and implementing some kind of advance concepts (3bet light, thin valuebet, check-raising bluffs) - it was fun

+1 to applying advanced concepts in super underdeveloped games.

3betting light can be profitable if you pick your spots correctly, but I wouldn't recommend the other two unless you have reads.

hey,it always depends on ur type of person.Online Poker has Pro´s and Contras same with Live Poker. In online poker you probably dont have as good reads on ur opponents like u might have at live poker, but if ur just looking to play at anytime u like and have a good chose option on anything u want to play u be good with online poker. I prefer playing Online Poker at moment,i just turned 18 a little ago,so im looking forward to try out playing live poker aswell.
