    Default Favorite Poker movie?

I'll start out by saying I like "Rounders" the best. Seemed most realistic (if you can say such a thing about a movie) of them all. Good actors, though some people were a bit off put by Malkovich's attempt at Russian accent.

Then there's a really horrible movie starring Sylvester Stallone and Melanie Griffith, can't even remember the name. The card play in there was just awfuly contrived.

    How about your favorites?

I'll bandwagon with Rounders. Have watched it several times and bought it as DVD. Its just a plain good movie.

Another favorite, although not much about poker, is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Plot Outline: Four London working class stiffs pool their money to put one in a high stakes card game, but things go wrong and they end up owing half a million pounds and having one week to come up with the cash.

I will jump on the Rounder bandwagon too. It was the movie that got me started...

I am a little embarrassed to say this, but Maverick.

It's just such a fun movie. Maybe not the most realistic in the card play (yeah, like he really would have drawn that royal flush!) but hey, you didn't ask the most realistic, just what is my favorite.

No need to be embarrased. You saved me from having to remember the name because I was thinking the same thing. It was just lots of fun!

Haven't seen that one, mainly because I'm told it's garbage. Personally, I think Rounders is great, but there's one movie that I like way better: Stuey. It also goes by the name High roller: The Stu Ungar Story. It's got that guy from the Sopranos playing Stu Ungar... (checking the name), Michael Imperioli.

Click the link above your previous post. It's got Eric Bana and drew Barrymore.

Looked that one up from IMDB. Definetely a movie I will avoid. The plot is bad, it's got 2.8/10 points, haven't heard of the actors/actresses (not necessarily a bad thing at all), and that tag line... "three girls. One summer. No lmit."... That's so corny.
