What happened to chips?

I had almost 400 chips and then I noticed yesterday that everyone's chips got reset to 30 and now I only got like 40 some chips I hope this is just some technical glitch going on.

It was an error caused by an update script. All chips were recalculated today.

As a bonus the recalculation cannot take in effect chips used in the arcade so far, so some users have even more chips

Also older users who had posts and threads before chips were taken in use were also credited for those.
