why do people call a large bet on a 5% chance of hitting on the river?

I personally will never understand why people complain about that... at the time it stinks but then you end up back at this thing about poker not being a short term game. You want a short term game go play blackjack otherwise roll with the punchs....

    Default Love the Fish

I totally hate it when a fish hits the two outer on the river (5%). But over the years the 95% will be in my favor and so will the profits. Unlike live poker, internet poker is much faster, you can play as many hands (especially if playing more than one table) in one session as a weeks worth of live play, so you will see and notice more suckouts.

Over time, the money will come your way if you play the 95% opposed to the 5%. Let the fish have a nibble, then hook em.

Even though they will hit that miracle card only %5 of the time, they think that it is possible. They will keep calling until they think they can't catch ANYTHING to win. The best thing to do in these situations is hope they didn't make there miracle hand and get a value bet in. Sometimes you may lose, but hey, thats poker.

P.s. I'm trying to start a poker motto: 'Just because you can, dosn't mean it's right.' Tell me what you think about the motto.

I hate that when you have the people that "get lucky" on the opening hand, I very seldom play the first hand in any poker game unless I have high pairs cuz you know some idiot will go all in then they win, alot......then they are the bullies of the table.....i always say sometimes to myself or outloud in chat, can't you just play like a human!

I have a comment that corresponds with this thread. I was wondering what everyones take is on online poker vs. live poker. I used to think the two were one in the same, but as I play more live poker I am finding they are two really different games and therefor two totally different styles are needed to play.

I would love to here anyones comments. Thanks
    Brian

live play is without a doubt better. at least the person has to think about wasting their money instead of clicking in with garbage.
