Great hand to watch. Seems like I've seen that luck from Gus before!

Could I have called it? At this point, I would have figured Gus for pocket nines - but again, what's another $165k to Daniel, right?

This is one of the best hands ever. Two of my favorite poker players; Negreanu takes the best reads always and Hansen has amazing pokerface. In this hand pokerface > reads though

I would have been very scared of pocket 55 and 99, but i think i would have called the hand... But I neverever couldn't be as cool as Negreanu was after the hand.

It would take many years experience with beats like that and/or a good psyche. I couldn't handle it that cool either.

Thanks for starting this thread, I've watched it over and over on my TeeVo, Gabe & AJ's commentary during this hand was also exceptional.

Daniel had the worst run of luck in some of those shows, Flopping monsters, getting drawn out on and worst of all, reading the others strength and paying off anyway. I'm glad to say he won most of his money back....

People like to portray Gus as a boob but in actuallity his read that Daniel will bet the river is the best read of them all. Without Gus' check on the river Negreanu can get away from the hand if Gus moves allin.

The only person I've ever heard Dis' Hansen was "Madcow" Matusow, the mouth. He keeps on and on about what an idiot Gus is, I wish I was a idiot Millionaire.....lol

In all honesty I fold there. The only way I would have called is if I had 99. At that point on the river, 66 is only the 4th best nuts and players of that caliber, as even the commentator said, aren't gonna BS with that kinda money on the line.

I would defenitely not call. I think dan was a bit steamed to call it actually. It wasnt a good spot to bluff, considering daniel has been calling off river bets consistently. If u go thru the hand, THE ONLY THING HE CAN BEAT IS A BLUFF, think about it.

    Default you would call

No offense, but I find it hard to belive that any of you have said you would fold. Think back on to some othe the NL limit games that you have played in when you have been up against a maniac at the table. If a hand like this would arise you would pay the guy/girl off. Gus's reputation earned him that call on the river. Its not like he was up against a guy like David Gray. Moreover, he was getting a pretty good price on the river. He would only have to be correct about 1 of 3 times in making that call on the river just to break even. Given all the factors involved, how could he possibly fold?

i don't think that anyone can fold there. The price is too good and there was only one hand that beats Daniel on the flop. I think i would be concerned like Daniel was on the river, but you have to call there.

I think you are overlooking the betting in the hand. Daniel knew gus was strong, Gus checked raise on the river, name the hand u can beat. Gus knows better than to wait til some1 is committed to bluff, and bluff is the only hand daniel can beat. Advanced, yes, but these are level 3 players, if Daniel wasnt steaming from previous hands, I think he'd muck it a reasonable percentage of time.
Having said that, I'm pretty sure I'd make a crying call in most situations , at low stakes. But in that exact situation, i'd muck em face up. Next hand....

    Default has to call

In my humble opinion daniel has to call, because it is gus doing the betting. Gus is my favourite pro , but he has to be called down because he does fling money around. im sure daniel would have folded to some of the other guys at the table in that situation. imagine if it was his good pal jennifer harman raising all in, i reckon he would make a save.

The funny thing is I just lost a big pot like this. I flop the boat and he flops quads....and as I call his river allin I know that the only thing theat beats me is quads. I think that Daniel really should have checked the river, but it really was a great play by Gus. So much for the ole value bet...lol.

I don't know... Given the fact that it's a cash game, I would've made the call as well. After all, you can always reload in cash games. I don't see myself folding that.

i swear to god that i could have layed down that hand 66, i bet there a million people who say that i couldnt saying how can u fold there so much in the pot, u have to call to see if he isnt bluffing.

if im negranu i know that gus isnt bluffing, andhe played it just like i would if i had quads,

i envey gus this is like my DREAM senerio in poker,

i have one mucked trip aces on the flop of AKQ
cuz i called the guy out of having J10, and 2 other s were all in, this might sound unbelivable but its a fact.

the guy ended up having J10
and the 2 others had QQ and KK turn was a 6 river was a 9 so i would have lost the hand,

sometimes you just have to think about it and the right move will come to you

and also i think id cry if i ever lose that much money on one hand
ill be seeing u on the felt, and remember I DONT BLUFF
