What puts you on tilt playing online ?

For me ,
Can anyone tell me the reason why 99% of Americans who play online play so slow .(by that I mean take it to the time limit in every hand)
I can understand playing slow if you have a big decision to make (i.e a big call or your on the bubble) but they take it to the time limit from the first hand & then just keep doing it every hand.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a few that do it, but its not, like I said about 99% are at it.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that the Americans are the only one's that play so slow, you get idiots from every Country, but the Americans are the main offenders because so many play the same way.

I'm not talking about big money games either .
I only play $2 to $10 tourneys & freerolls.

I'd like to hear what puts you on tilt.
Is it like me playing slow ,getting rivered or playing with Donkeys e.t.c

You should play more live games... it makes online play way faster relatively. That's the best tip I can give.

Putting the insult of a whole country aside, what makes me tilt. Not much any more, the bad suckout always sticks out like an open sore but I have managed to get a little less angry with each Donkey encounter. I have found the quicker you bounce back to your game the better off you are. There are many fish in the poker room and sometimes the little guy gets to eat, but if you can curb the length of the steaming, then it is a nice fish fry for you.

In freerolls it's generally people who think that they have a better chance of making it to the money by wasting time - by waiting until everyone else goes out. There's probably a time during a tournament where that might work in your favour. But if you do it from the start, you just get to play less hands and the blinds keep increasing.

What annoys me the most is people playing 20 tables at once and taking forever to make their decision, because they're busy elsewhere. (Usually easily identifyable by the fact that they sometimes make very quick decisions, and don't always run down the clock. And they'll occasionally sit out for a couple of hands.)

And also people calling huge raises or all-ins with absolute junk... and getting lucky 9 times out of 10. (Which, I guess, is why they do it. Maybe I should try it sometime...) I don't think it puts me on tilt (anymore), though. I've gotten used to it by now.

first let me begin by saying i play on full tilt now. but one tournament just to be a jackass i let the timer run down every single hand before timing out and folding, and when i did play a hand, before i made any decision i would let the timer run down before every check, bet, raise, or fold. it was pretty funny to watch the 8 other ppl at my table bitch about it thru out the tournament. the strategy actually worked out pretty well too, i angered them to a point where they were no longer able to play their best and it helped me win a few big pots here and there because they were playing weak hands in an attempt to eliminate me. However, as someone pointed out earlier, in the end its just stops you from seeing more hands. so besides that tournament, it was the only time i have ever done that or let the clock run down. i think i finished in 18th outta 1000 or so ppl.

what puts me on tilt? well alot used to but now i like to think i have learned to control myself. if i do feel like im even slightly about to go on tilt, i immediately go to the play chip tables 5/10 omaha hi lol, and go all in every time with play chips. since the max buy in is 1000, sometimes ill raise to 999 play chips then take my time before calling off the last chip since someone else almost always reraises. now thats some funny stuff. you get some ppl that take it real seriously. i cant begin to tell you how great it is to suckout on these ppl over and over agian with just play chips. you wouldnt imagine the stuff that they say. i never thought i would ever meet ppl that take play chips so seriously, but believe me they are out there lol. so that's a good solution for me. but i dont know what works best for everyone else.

to give you and example of something that might put me on tilt on the 22nd of dec i was playing in a $10 KO tournament on Full tilt, make it to the final table. the FIRST hand at the final table i have KK under the gun i raise, button reraises, i go all in for about 3x more his raise. at this time im 3rd in chips he is chip leader. he thinks about it and calls. hes got QQ......
flop 10 9 8 ......... uh oh lol you know whats coming
turn 4 ........ hehe
river Q ........ yep had that gut feeling.

i took 9th for a whopping $80
1st place took $1,012. that was a little frustrating

two days later on the 24th, christmas eve, i had nothing to do looking to kill some time so i played in the daily double tournaments on full tilt, i believe it was daily double A and around 30 some ppl left in the tournament but i had 10 10 in the BB and was raised, i go all in agian for about 3x the raise and am called by 77. feeling pretty good about this one

river 7 ...... oh come on lol

so in two days, one final table appearance and once just really late in the tournament i lost twice, to 2 outers. what are the odds of that 2/52 * 2/52 ? thats not a very good %. lol yea sucks but you just gotta move on. im not bashing the plays of my opponents i was merely trying to describe the hands. but after both losses i went to the play chip tables and blew off some steam.....lmao.

Actually let the lock run down on EVERY decision can be a very good way of eliminating any tells you would give away through your betting speed.

That is one posible anwer, otherwise I would go with the players playing multi table answer

I Guess I Get Steamed When I Am Called By Some One Out Of Position Wth A Weak/marginal Hand And They Suck Out On The River.. .as Far As Playing Slow... I Sometimes Think People Are Doing It On Purpose Jsut To Get Other People Pissed Off Or They Are Playing More Than One Table. When I Play More Than One Table I Tend To Take A Couple Extra Seconds To Anylize The Action. Sometimes I Will Play A Cash Game And Tourney At The Same Time.. So There Are Two Diffrent Set Of Rules And For Me Two Different Styles Of Play.. I Tend To Be Very Aggresive In Cash Games, Patient And Only Aggresive When I Have A Strong Hand In Tourney's. if you want to see some proper tilting / anger management problems try playing some razz. there isnt a single razz player who hasn't been on tilt at some point. I guarantee even the great players who don't play worse after a beat or two are regularly giving the cat the kicking of a lifetime. Personally i smash items of computer equipment which is even more expensive than losing at the stakes i play.

On the plus side i recommend razz to toughen you up mentally because it is so brutal. After a long spell playing razz i have been drifting back to tourney nl holdem and now having my aces cracked is like water of a ducks back, i just have a little laugh about it.

I tried razz started of ok, but like you say it's a very frustrating game(not as bad as HI/LO stud or omaha) but unlike you i didn't smash my computer but came very close a few time, so just don't play them no more.

what puts me on tilt is when i'm playing a turbo trny and someone is slow playing......dont ppl understand the blinds will eat u alive if u dont see as many hands as possible..

I have to aplolgize to you, its not only the Americans but the Canadians as well.
I hadn't played with many canadians, but in the last few weeks they have come out of the trees,every table i'm on it seems to 4 from the USA , 4 from Canada & me LOL.LOL

I think I just tilted right before I left my .50/1 cash game. I had pocket kings in late position, I raised the table folded.

Two hands later, two seats to the right of me had pocket kings, hit his set with a board of AKJ, shoved and was called by AQ. Ten on the river and he went busto. I had to stand up myself after that.

I tilt in live cash games on suckouts, but only for a few minutes. Tournies I have gotten much better about saying Nice Hand and moving on, emotionless. It is the cash games that get me, becuase I have to buy more back, in the tourney I know I only have a set amount of chips to work with so I go from there.

What makes me tilt??? I guess it would not be the suckouts, and/or rivers, I've had a few of them myself... It has to be, me knowing I'm doing something wrong and doing it anyways... like playing for the "draw" or flush, or having a set and know the other guy has gotten his flush or str8 and still "having to look"... takes a couple of hands or so to stop beating myself up, lol... usually pretty black and blue by the time I get out of a tournament... sitting out a hand or two helps a little... good luck out there on the felt....PapaGary

DONKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not talking about a person who has what they figure to be a winning hand and calls you only to suckout. We all have the bad beats/suck outs, they don't bother me. But what sets me off is the dumbass who calls a bet that puts him/her all-in, and they have the lowest pair or draws. People tend to play loose in a FR because they have no investment, but when you buy-in to a tourney.....Why play like this, unless you don't like money.
