are willing to call bets as big as 3000,3000 then 13,000 chips with out hesition
So we'll say the pot is 3000 when the flop comes out and you bet the pot so 3000 and he calls. Why would yu bet 3000 again on the turn into a 9000 pot now a 12000 pot giving him 4 to 1 on his call? Protect your hand better...you're pricing him in to chase flushes and straights on you.

Hey, so happy you spoke of this! I know logically that the cards run even. However at FTP, its as if they let me win for a day and then...bang... bad beat after bad beat. ex: all in A10 against A8...guess what 8 on the river...KK against 77..he flops a 7. Now there's something new going on...every time I get a good hand and bet strong guess what...I am against AA...yup, Also, 1 day of good cards, and then 50% of my dealt hands have 2s or 3s in them .... I've counted 50% ! This has occered many times and always follows one day of good luck..
I originally wanted to ask if anyone out there thinks that these site are fixed...If the cards run even, what is happening to me is impossible because its the same cydrome in a 5 day cycle for the last 6 months.
I hope someone responds, I am trying hard not to TILT !
    Thanks,
    PN
It's just variance. Just because you have the best hand when you get your money in doesn't mean you'll win every time. Keep getting your money in with the best of it and you'll end up on top. I recently went through a cold streak like this for 2 days where no matter how ahead I was it seemed my hands would never hold up. Just keep battling through and keep playing a solid game and it'll even out.

yep, the past week online for me was quite the drag, lost a few hundred, kept getting turned and river-ed. I just tried to keep the pots smallish while still trying to be selectively aggressive. Last night was the break in that chain, hit my hands, started with big PPs, hit sets and some flushes. It was quite the relief, gotta love variance.

Default are we talking cheating here?

Look...this happens all the time! Bad beat after bad beat. As well, I have looked at shark scope and I would say that from all the people I've seen there are about 5% who are actually winning money.
Are we all stupid or is poker alot less skill than the people who sell their books and methods would like us to believe, or are we getting swindled by either the sites or the winners and some kind of cheating software. I love this game and am playing better and better but I am losing more and more....please no on tell me that if I'm losing I can't be playing well. I feel like I should never go all-in. Who here keeps playing because they think one day they'll "get it" and start winning more than losing? This is really rediculous and I wouldn't be surprised if one day there is a "poker site scandel" . I'll keep playing and studying and getting better but I don't think that that day of winning will come...at least not on the internet !

I know it's frustrating but in general I don't mind chasers , even if they do hit sometimes most times they will lose their shirt playing like that , it does suck in a tourney though since you can't keep playing them and get your chips back and then some lol

The other thing is if you do go all in that is the chance you take , all in seems to be a very over used move in online poker , that doesn't seem to happen nearly as much live , gl

    f**k fult tilt,

this thread started on 29th December 2007 01:17 AM & the site has just got worse & worse

I've also noticed if its a fkn yank or kraut your up against its even worse.Especially American's they always hit the river, no matter if they got only a one outer they'll hit it.

its been so bad lately I've reinstalled Jokerstars after 2 years but its the same as when i uninstalled it

just one quick one from my last full tilt game for a while,I was playing a $6.60 sng

    final table,8 left & I'm 2nd in chips(around 48 000),with the chip leader about 6000 or7000 chips more than me

    blinds 2000/4000 ,
i have pocket aces (utg),raise to 18 000,the next person calls all in(2000)the chip leader(A FUCKEN YANK) is next to call & does, the rest including the blinds fold

    flop is ace106

    i bet all in(around 30 000 ), the chip leader call's with 76
    the other person has kingking

    turn & river comes 25

How the fuck he called preflop has got me fucked, then call's my all in with just a 6 WTF

And its not just a one off, if it was just a one off or even just happen every now & then you could live with it, but it happens I'd say 95% of the time to me on fucken FULL TILT

One quickie how many of you think there's cheating going on ?
    on Full Tilt & Jokerstars
IE people knowing what cards are coming & people collaborating etc etc

I think there's a lot of retards playing poker, which is why there are so many retarded posts about nonexistent cheating.

That's why you don't play on shady sites. But Full Tilt and PokerStars aren't shady sites. As for Full Tilt, it's impossible to know what's going to come out. They use continuous shuffling.

How do you play poker and can't take a bad beat? If you never got 5% beats, would you still argue people are cheating or that it's rigged etc?

I like how he says it's "especially" Americans' fault... even tho the sites are based overseas and they consider dealing with Americans a nuisance because our government tries to block them and makes threats to their very existence - but somehow through all that negativity they still want American's to have an edge? ROFLMAO sorry that's just hilarious... that'd be like saying Gadhafi would invite Americans to have a picnic and party with him LMAO ain't happening...
I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

Default i blame zynga poker on facebook....

zynga poker is the breeding ground for pot chasers online. i started playing on there just to learn. those people got mega issues just like u guys( and girls) say. theyll bet on less than an open ended straight on the river card. its bs i agree. truth is its gambling nothings for sure till the bitter end.... and it is bitter sometimes. i feel most oif the time that u cant have 2 good days in a row online like it is rigged so that if u play well u never actually get ahead. u go up and down non stop. im most sick of the donkeys out there that reraise preflop for blinds with nothing in their hand. these turkeys are the biggest population online. im very tired of all of it. if you think full tilt and turkeystars is bad try absolute. if u dont bet on the river ull never win a hand. if u raise constantly on preflop ull win almost always. ive seen people on there going all in on 7 2 offsuit and other ridiculous hands and winning every time. so let me put it to all of you this way..... maybe some days u just cant win to save ur life period. other days cant lose to save ur life. starting to sound familiar? life has a way of balancing things out. everytime i get ahead i get punted back hard. i honestly beleive the only way to get ahead (like the pros) is to play tournaments. big ones. the day you have a good day will be huge. the day you dont ull lose ur tiny buy in. my advice.... take it or leave it. fyi im no poker rockstar but got lots of common sense. good to see some people still do even tho common sense is less than common. gl guys( and girls)!!!

da_professional, one of the best MTT pros, hasn't made a profit this year, which is why tournaments really suck. If you're a recreational player, fine, but if you're playing to make money, play cash games. If you're a winner, you'll grow your br at a much more steadier pace. The only way you can really make money as MTTer is if you play ~300 MTTs/month, which is a shitty life.

As for ups and downs, what do you think is desirable:
    A) Lose 2 buyins, gain 3, gain 1, lose 2, gain 4, lose 1, gain 3, gain 3
    B) In the red after playing 199 tournaments, final table the 200th, get sucked out, finish 9th, and are still in the red. Now you also have to pay for a broken monitor.

Lol. I don't know why people still play donkaments for money.

Thinking back to how you used to feel about tournaments vs. cash games, this is surprising.
