Default Trying to catch the card intense

I noticed that out of all the times when I'm playing at odds to catch a special card that I need, most of the time, almost never, I dont get it. I usually will only take this risk if I have an OK hand to begin with. Sometimes the opponent can be in the same boat as me. Maybe we could just split the pot after everyone else is dropped out. What is the best way to make this suggestion to your opponent?

If it's a home game then just ask if you want to split. We do this a lot when we are down to two and want to get another game going. Only instead of that one hand, we split the whole win pot. Then we get to go on to the next round that much sooner.

If its a cash game, I personally am fond of using the "run it twice method". Its a tactic used sometimes to dcrease variance over time. Basically, when you decide you might want to be splitting the pot, you finish dealing ou the rest of the cards for the hand, then below it, deal the same number of cards again, making two boards on the table. If someone wins both boards, they still take the pot. If one person wins one, and the other wins the other, then the pot is split.
this is usually done when one person is all in, but I think it would work in this situation also..

That's an interesting method and makes it feel a lot less like, Okay, let's just give it up. There's something to be said for finishing the game but on the other hand, it sucks for people waiting.

That's our motivation. People have come in late and want to get into the game. If we are down to two, we usually split the money and start a new round. Not so much quitting an individual hand, though. We haven't run into that one.
