When you get good enough, save up $100 and put it on a site that you have rakeback on, and go grind out the mirco cash games. If you have the mindset and high level thought process of a pro, you can win on any level, you should be able to turn $100 into thousands.

Very true. I hear over and over again about people complaining that the micro limits are impossible to beat because people keep calling there everything. That just isn't correct. I started from micro limits myself some years ago, and gradually went to higher limits. I can't remember which poker pro it was that said it, but he was right on the money: "if you can't win at the micro limit games, there is no way you can beat the game at higher limits."

If u can endure multi hour sessions and playing with what u have, u can beat the micro level games easily. Just sit tight and let the fish swim into your trap.

One of the things everyone has to learn about the micros is that bluffing or semi bluffing are mostly unreasonable because one of the reasons you put out the bluff or semi bluff is to get your opponenet to fold. I see more showdowns at .5/.10 than at any other level. You have to be more than patient, and you have to be able to get past one or two suckouts, because at that level they will happen more frequently, you must play your hands that are close to the nuts for as much as you can while trying to avoid the races and big draws.

If you think you are a pro level player and you are complaining about other people in the freerolls some thing is wrong...1. There aren't very many pros playing in the freerolls. If you have been in the money a few times and seen how the top 50 players in a freeroll are playing you know this...2. Yes you only win 15 in the FT freerolls but you only have to win one, one to three dollar tourney to win anywhere from 100 to 500 and that can get you on your way to bigger and better things...3. i started at the $10NL level and now play up to 3/6 limit, or 100NL/PL

It certainly isn't easy at the micro levels, but nowhere else will someone win a 50bb pot with just top-pair. Looking through pokertracker, i can see that .05/.10 NL is still my most profitable game in relation to the Big Blind size..

alright ya'll I am what you call poor white trash i can't even afford a pack of cigarettes i can't work because i have epilepsy so i can't work online poker is the only thing close to a job i can actually do and poker stars and absolute poker are the only gambling sites that worth trying i love full tilt but it sucks to poor people atleast poker stars and absolute have 1 and 2 cent gambling full tilt only has 5 and 10 cent gambling they are not poor kid friendly i'm not able to put any money in to this i can't even afford a pack of cigarettes in real life so poker is the only job i can actually have. so people if you love your fellow man please take it easy on us poor people we need all the sympathy we can get we are more poor than you would even believe i can't afford anything this isn't even my internet connect i just get on bc of what i do to help somebody throughout the day. so please have concideration to the poor people that can't even afford to put any money in their accounts.

i mean your complaining that 0.5/0.10 is too big? and that you cant win a freeroll even though your at 'pro level'?

I dont think anyone should soft play anybody, its like any sport, Im not going to shoot ya hoop in basketball just because i feel sorry for you, im going to shoot it cos i want to win, because I want to be the BEST.

I dont think your at any 'level' at all except someone dreaming to become a professional poker player. If you havent made a deposit, have you even played real money? or are you just making some play money chips at micro level?

At least PL10 omaha is too big for any smaller rolls out there. U'd need more than 300$ to play on that level.

I dont think its a bad thing to play at ones roll enforced level. And if a pro cant make it in a freeroll, btw, isnt necessarily anything more than a typical freeroll thing. Lots of donks that suck you out, no matter how well u play your hands.

But still.. I dont understand how an apileptic person could stare at a screen all day and not get a seizure. I know for a fact that these screens are one reason of seizures with som epileptics, so that alone makes the whole professional poor man up there a bit questionable..

Play your neighbours live at small stakes if u need the money. Internet is expensive and u need a connection to make it really.

I'm just curious.......if he can't afford a pack of cigarettes, how does he: #1: Pay for an internet connection to play online poker, and #2 Pay the minimum deposit of $50 on most every site in order to play? This sounds a little fishy to me.....sorry.....I'm not a heartless person, but I know the smell of b.s. - it's a very distinct smell......

I think that the whole thread is a bit odd, starting by its name.

I wouldnt even dream of calling myself a professional with anything under 50k-100k€ on my roll.

In the case I ever get into that situation, it still would be worth a good and long think wether to start to play poker as a profession, since its not a stable career with no worries about finances. And its a very demanding way to live with the rise of poker that is going on again. Finnish pros are luckily not too media sexy, at least in finland, so they can concentrate on their lives, but I could imagine its a different story in america for example..

There is a great article written by Chris Ferguson (definite pro) on how he took nothing and turned it into over 10000 dollars online. It took him about a year and a half. His key to winning, he had bankroll rules. Never risk more than a certain percantage, and other rules, great great article. He never had more than 10 dollars in his account for over 7 months, but due to protecting the wad, he was able to get the account over 10 big ones by always playing within his means.

It can be done, you must adjust your game to whatever situation you are in, that is a poker player.

But isn't Chris ferguson a some sort of mathematician? That helps, as he is able to count those pretty simple (at least to him) calculations almost instantly.

He also plays holdem, so I suppose thats the way to try to gain a decent roll..

I guess thats a way to get money compared to the lower level omaha tables..
