I think so.... I sat down with the very last of my online bankroll at this table, and this is what happens only a few hands in. I don't think I played it wrong at all, but any imput would be excellent, because when this sort of thing happens, I always blame myself.

I have a hard time playing these microstakes online, I don't take it seriously and I never concentrate. When I deposit again, I am going to take a big chunk of my live poker BR and play some higher stakes online, and maybe then I won't see as many donks as this guy... Anyone have any tips on microstakes? Does anyone else have the same problem, or does the random number generator FTP uses just hate me?

Before you just dump a large portion of you live BR into online poker, you should probably be able to beat up the micros. Definetely not trying to make this a blast post, just stating the facts. you still only had TP/TK, and the beat was bad, but you easily could've been beat by a wide variety of hands. Trust me, I've played a wide variety of limits on FTP over the last 3-4 years (almost since it's inception) and since Party Poker was shut down, you will see a lot of this same play at all levels now.
Just be careful and protect your BR. If you are a profitable live player, I suggest you play online either for very small stakes only or do some heavy reading on the mathematics of poker. And remember, poker is a long term profit game.
To make a long post short, just protect your BR. It can go up in flames online in a VERY short time.

I appreciate the info... I have been a winning online player in the past, right when the whole Neteller scandel started I withdrew all my money and profit, and when I was finally able to start playing in casinos, built up my BR more that way. I started playing poker online, and understand the swings are bigger, but as of late, I can't seem to even beat the microlimits.

I pushed because I knew the guy was weak, and I knew he didn't have a hand or maybe an Ace with a weaker kicker, I had previously played with him, and had him tagged with some notes.

Guess it's time to reread my Sklansky!

everybody gets "donked" at the level you're playing at... even the donks...

I'm sure you realize, the higher levels bring out the better (and hopefully more predictable) players...

personally, I have better success sticking with Sit & Go's and Tourney's on-line...

I rarely play cash ring games online - much prefer the MTT's and SNG where with patience and skill, cash on a regular basis. Obviously luck is a factor when you're playing against calling stations and very little you can do about it. Had the river been any other card, I'm assuming you wouldn't have blogged about the money you won from the idiot. Tough break - better luck on the felts

He's just trying to take down the pot here (obviously) with his bet. I don't know that player's style of play, so it's hard for me to say whether the check-raise was a good play or not. But, after the flop, you were a 94% favourite to win the hand, so obviously, he didn't put you on an Ace here. If he did, and still called you, it was a horrific play on his part.

If he put you on a lower pocket pair, he's probably repping the Ace with his call, hoping it would scare you off.

The J brought him up to 9% to win the hand. He's basically got 4 outs (Maybe even less if other players mucked a 10, which is very possible given you were at a 9 player table).

Obviously, pokr_knite played that one as badly as you could possibly play it (or his read on you, as I mentioned above was different), but got rewarded. It sucks, and I've been there, where I put my money in good a lot on FT too, and the opponent got rewarded.

Keep your chin up though, perhaps try a different site if you find FT just keeps inflicting these bad beats on you. I cashed in a very small buy-in on Stars (29th) out of 4200 players, but it sure restored my confidence in my game, because these bad beats had me doubting myself (and this may have done the same thing to you too).

In my opinion, you should have raised more preflop after there were two limpers, maybe to 1.25 or 1.50. Then after he bets the flop just shove, I don't think there is any way he calls you then. It looks like he called you to bluff later, but then when you shoved the turn he must have felt he was getting good enough odds to call you. You take away that decision from him by just shoving the flop.

Hard to critic a play when you get your money all in with one card to come and you are a 10-1 favorite but i agree i most likely would have pushed the turn given the notes you had on him

Everytime this happens I get pissed off... but then I realize that for every one that he wins I will win over 9. It sucks... I know... but you have to shrug if off... watch how patrick antonius, barry greenstein takes a suckout.

Yeah, that is something I have really been working on lately, I know bad beats happen, and Ive learned not to tilt and get mad, etc. I know that in the long run, making that play will give me profit. I was just steaming after that hand because I had played thousands of hands that day alone, and that sort of thing just kept happening to me.

I have heard good things about the Zen and Poker book (not sure on title right now), and its supposed to have lots of valuable info, thats the next poker book I plan to pick up.

ive never seen so many horrible beats until online poker, when i have a win on one site i will go play at another because after a win im sure to lose next few on the bounce, whether its full tilt , poker stars ,su n poker and even pure play, theres nothing pure about the poker sites there designed to frustrate i believe... when your bank roll is at the last few chips its a certain you lose so you have to add more.if the ftp dont hate me i know i hate it.

For some reason, Q 10 is one of those magical hands that for some reason people just can't let go of. Then again, so is A K. I agree with IFixlexus....there were a wide variety of hands that someone could have beat you with, espacially in the type of game you were playing...people in those games will play hands like A 10 suited all the way to the river, catch their two pair, and leave you wondering...why?

As for HeyKidMove's comment, I'm not so sure raising more would have pushed the player out. It really depends on if he had a lot of money to burn to begin with as compared with the chip stack of PiJuice15. If pokr_knite had PiJuice15 well covered, he most likely would have played his hand exactly the same, no matter the size of the bet, in order to put PiJuice15 out.

My only relatively helpful advice to this would be to watch a table prior to jumping in...especially if you're down to your last little bit of money. Don't join a table that has a large percentage of players seeing the flop...these are most likely your "fish" tables and you want to steer clear of these until you have mastered them. Also, if you have only a small amount in your bankroll, seek out tables that have players with a similar amount of money as you. More than likely, they won't be quite as happy to chase you down as someone who has 5x your bankroll.

If a poker site like FTP or Stars hates anyone, why are there sucessful online players?
I have studied poker book by book and game by game and played seriously for over two years, playing overall for over 5 years, I am beginning to see fruits of my labor. Why have I won on Full Tilt? Did the site pick my name out of the hat to win? I would like to think it is my work on my game that has led me to start winning money online and live.
