I cold call the raise while in the BB. I figure this will disguise my hand if I can hit a set or if the bandit is holding mid PP or I'll fold if overcards hits the flop.
Bingo I hit my set.
I check the flop (standard) I'm pretty sure he doesn't make me for a monster at this point. He checks behind me. Interesting. I don't think he'd check if he had 99-QQ or even KK perhaps. I discount air b/c he's been pretty conservative and he wouldn't raise preflop unless he had something decent from what I've seen.
He might check if he had A/K, AA or he's hit a set himself.
I'm hoping he has a set or AA and I'll be able to stack him.
The turn comes another diamond. This is where it gets tricky. I opt to check it over to the bandit.
Good or bad move? I'll leave that up to you guys to debate.
My line is that if he has what I think he has (AA, AK diamonds, 88, 55 based on his check on the flop) then I can stack him. I'm fairly certain he'll bet out if he has the aforementioned hands. He bets out. Perfect.
I re-raise him, just in case he's chasing the flush but also because I pulled a semi-bluff against this guy a few hands ago when I was on a flush draw on the turn and I check raised him that time as well. He folded that hand to me. So hopefully he's remembered this move.
He goes over the top, in that instant I know he's got AA, big PP or a set. He's protecting something.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't semi-bluff all-in with AK or Ax diamonds, and even so I'm willing to gamble with him this hand.
The rest they say is history.
