does anyone know the odds of being rolled up in 7 card stud?
what are the odds of 2 people having a wheel.
i googled 'rolled up' but all that comes back is Heath Ledger and $20 bill.

ok amateur mathematics time
ie AAA rolled..
1st card is 4 / 52 (4 aces, 52 chances)
2nd card is 3/51
3rd card is 2/50
multiply them up 4/52 =13 (12-1 odds) 1st card is an ace
AA is 4/52 x 3/51 = (3/51 = 17 (16-1 odds)) 13x17 = 221 (220 - 1 odds) 1st 2 cards are aces
AAA is 4/52 x 3/51 x 2/50 = 5525 (5524-1 odds) all three cards are aces
EDIT:
thats the odds on rolled up aces (or any selected hand)
Actually the odds on any rolled up hand would be :
1st card can be anything, so is 0
2nd is 3/51 = 17
3rd is 2/50 = 25
0x17x25 = 425, or 424-1
Hope this helps

Then for 2 people having a wheel...
so lets assume you have a wheel, and we want to know the odds of someone else having one also.
ok there are 20 wheel cards, 4 of each Ace through 5
You have 5 of them so there are 15 left..
Lets assume we are at the river, you have only 1 of each, and we are heads up..
Obviously in stud you will have to see 2 wheel cards in his board, so that leaves us 13 cards.
We cant see his three hole cards but what are the odds that they make his wheel?
ok so he has an ace and a 2 showing, 1st hole card to be a 3,4 or 5 is
11 dead cards = 41 left. 3 3's, 3 4's and 3 5's is 9 cards so its 9/41 = 4.6
then 6/40 = 6.7
then 3/39 = 13
multiply them all = 401
which makes 400 - 1 odds
This is a tricky one though because if any wheel cards were passed in other hands or if you started with a pair of aces etc all this would affect the outcome. Also i rounded the figures up so it may be slightly out, it'll do for a ballpark though![]()
rolled up always ends up screwing me over
