    Default poker programs

hello, is it just me or do these programs seem to be tilted toward agression? Particularly in the first hour of a tournament. You get dealt pocket aces or kings or big slick and some donk goes all in in front of you with 8 4 off suit and they ALWAYS win the hand. What is up with this? I realize you suffer bad beats and agression is very important facet of hold em but come on this is a bit ridiculous.

No they don't. It might definetely feel like that sometimes, but they don't win more than about 15-20 times out of a hundred. play the same hands over and over 100 times and look who comes out on top. Gl at the tables.

Default The thing about poker sites...

You can't automatically assume a poker site is going to automatically favor one player over the next...the main reason?

The site is not responsible for the actions of the player. Only the player can make the decision to play his hand, the site cannot do that for him/her.

Even if the person had not gone all in on the flop, most likely he'd have played it the same way in the end, and you holding your AA probably would have thought your hand was best, without weighing the possibility of two pair or another better hand being in play.

One thing to consider is the basic hand rankings of poker. Forget about the value of your Aces...forget about the value of any card in the deck for just a second...

Try looking outside the box and judge your actions based on the hand ranking system only. By this I mean, Look at your aces...say to yourself "I have a pair" and not "I have a pair of Aces" - A pair is the lowest possible hand on the ranking scale besides a simple high card. Once you've realized this, it's a bit easier to assume that a raiser has beat your pair with a higher ranking hand...despite whether his initial two cards are considered a good play or not, the fact remains, his hand ranking of two pair beats your hand ranking of one.

The thing with Aces is, any two pair can beat them...just like any other pocket pair. By having a pocket pair, you have to remember that two of your outs are in your hand...What I mean by that is, if you have 2 aces in your hand, then there are only two left in the deck...and that is if a tight player hasn't already folded one of them because it had a rag kicker.

A pair can never be suited, so the possibility of getting a flush with a pocket pair is slim. Likewise, the possibility of getting a straight is slim. So your only real hope while holding a pocket pair is that you will get three of a kind, four of a kind, or a full house. Granted, some people win with two pair while holding a pair in their hand, but this is rare because you have to remember that if the board pairs, the odds that someone else could have three of a kind or a full house is greatly higher. So, if you don't hit on the flop, and someone is raising to a higher ranking possible hand, judge your own hand accordingly.

One thing about online poker, it is notoriously loose. For this reason alone, I will never play a pocket pair to a preflop all in raise, unless I have the all in player covered by three times his bet. I must see the flop before making an ultimate decision with a pocket pair, because some of the online players (like the one you ran into) will attempt a suckout with any two cards, and often times succeed when you are stuck holding a pocket pair.

Being able to lay down Aces (or any pocket pair for that matter) when you are beat is the mark of a truly disciplined poker player.

I hope this makes sense, I get way too far outside the box sometimes...
I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah
