    Default Dissect this play :D

This was a funny hand that the opponent berated me on, but I don't think it was a terrible play mind you :P Looking forward to some analysis here

No reads on this guy, sorry :P
    Playing 15c/25c 6max:

UTG raises to $1, all folds to me on the button, I have AJhh, I make a borderline call here. Probably best just to fold, perhaps 3bet a loose player, but its too late now, I've called

Flop comes 4h 5d 6d and villian makes a c-bet out for roughly $1.50. I'm doubting this flop has really helped this guy, so I think I'll put some pressure on, so I raise to $5. He calls this. Turn comes another 4, this one a club. He checks to me, and right about now I don't know if this is a good card or bad card to fire at, so in confusion I check, he might have a slowplayed set turned fullhouse here.

River comes an Ace, but a 3rd diamond too :P He checks again, at this point I reckon I've made a dog's dinner of the hand, and I check again :/

He shows KK, my AJ takes it down, then tells me that my flop raise was really bad

Would be nice to hear some feedback on this one:
    1. Flop play
    2. What to do on turn? When/what cards should I be firing at?
    3. Value bet river?

I realise that this was pretty much butchered from the start in all likelihood, but give it hell guys, do your worst :P

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I like this play from start to finish.

pre-flop AJ six handed on button - why not call avg raise

flop - correct - probably didn't improve his hand - let's find out - reraise

turn - you have ace high he has shown strength by calling flop re-raise, and is offering free card - take it

river - you improved, but probably will only get called/raised by a better hand - check

Well played sir - Great use of position - I'll take the abuse too.

Well given that you didn't have a good read on this guy you probably played a little "scared" but in the end it paid off, and ended up being the smart route.

By him checking on the turn, he was most likely waiting for you to bet so he could raise you, since he had a big full house with the Kings in the hole. So by you checking, it gave him another opportunity to try and get a bet out of you on the river. But, when he checked again, you didn't fall for it. You checked again, and ended up with the winning hand.

So in all honesty, I believe this was played correctly for this particular situation, and the other guy had no right to complain to you about your initial raise.

He should never have tried to slow play a big hand.....he lost due to his own bad play. Simple as that.
I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

Like most, I think your plays were all pretty standard. Generally, I don't like floating with overcards and then checking when they hit, but in this case, AQ and AK are definitely in his preflop raising range so if you bet and he came over the top, you'd have to lay down the best hand. Also, folding AJ suited on the button for a dollar would be awful nitty.

Most inexperienced or tight players (I'm considering your opponent here tight) don't make the call on the flop, and certainly don't reraise without a hand as you did, so that is probably why he was upset. When a player uses a technique not in my arsenal, I find myself confused and frustrated as well and that is probably what he was experiencing. You got lucky, but your opponent should have probably realized that the flop probably gave you little more than a flush draw and reraised your steal attempt. After cold calling, then checking the turn and river, it's obvious your opponent had no idea where he was at in this hand. Take it down, Sir.

Your play and line were fine imo.

6-max AJsuited is a good call + sometimes re raise on the button with no reads.

On that flop i think your 3 bet is a good play.

The guy was just pissed he was rivered so i wouldn't worry about it.

I think your opponent was an idiot for not reraising you on the flop or leading out for $8 or more on the turn.

His loss, nothing wrong with your end, in certain situations, I would have played the same.

You played that hand fine. Personally, I would've made a value bet on the river, being quite certain he didn't have a flush or a full house and the ace was probably good anyway. Your opponent played the hand bad on the flop not re-raising you, and then giving you a free card on the turn.
Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.

the other player mis-played his hand big time.

You did get lucky and you were a little spewy but so what he let you get there, therefore you deserved to win based on his bad play. If they guy isn't going to play his KK aggressively then he deserved to lose the pot to tell you the truth. I don't know what you put him on but based on his weak play you definitely played it ok.

If I were the other guy I'd be raising on the flop and the turn all the way. If you want to chase and hit your 3 outer then so be it.

Otherwise, I don't think your play was terriblly bad, it's just that the other guy played way worse.

Well I'll be honest this is a play I rarely go for, after he called I was pretty much giving up :P
