Default The Value of the Ace

Lord knows, we have all had a big starting hand, hit it good on the flop or turn and then gotten sucked out by an Ace rag chase to the river.

Sometimes it may seem like despite your best play and best efforts, you just can't shake that one person who values the Ace as if it were invincible...and many times, that player ends up catching his lucky hand, and you are left wondering......what can I do to get this guy out of the way?

So, why do you think some people cannot let an Ace go, no matter how bad their kicker is, no matter how much you bet into them?

Wow...aren't you something...you can see how I'm acting!!! Please....

Let it be known that anything I post is just something for people to ponder over and discuss, and nothing more...

If I were worried about everything I posted about, I'd be locked up in a nut house somewhere.

Where did all the adults go? Be for real...if you don't want to participate in the thread then that's fine, but don't make smart remarks...

It sure would be nice if people really attempted to think about the question rather than automatically assuming it is about the writer...I'm just trying to get some sort of adult conversation started since everyone's so damned quiet...yeesh! What is the deal is it a full moon or something???

There are tons upon tons of players that choose to play ace rag. With for example pocket pair and ace on the flop it doesn't bother me all that much, but what I hate is for example AK vs. A4 with an ace on the flop, and they just call the flop, call the turn, and then hit two pair on the river. that can be so annoying, altough extremely common.

Nevertheless, altough annoying at times, gotta be happy that there are players like that. Even though they suck out on you from time to time, it's nice to get their money most of the time.
Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.

    Default Bet

I just bet my hands, no need to slow play, if they are in anyway you might as well get more into the pot, if they want to call with A-rag, better for me. Suckouts happen, but odds even out over time and playing against these types of players is profitable in the long run.

    Bye

Players calling with zero overcard won't play on real money so I bet we need to assume the offer of those 3 outs, fair deal I'm happy with those callers too myself
I'm not saying your thread is a non-sense, I hate them a lot when hitting their river

About the value of the ace itself I bet it's the poker fault, stop making logos with aces and perhaps it will change on the long run

Thank you Lava - I finally got an answer that makes sense as with regard to the question

For anyone else who may not understand the question, the main question is this:

" Why do you think some people value any Ace as if it were invincible? "

Good answer Lava, thanks! Glad someone put some thought into it

I know I am one of the people who likes aces a little too much but again I am still just learning the game and I have seen that aces are not always good so it's just part of the learning process. I think some people see people on tv playing all kinds of hands and maybe they think it's right. I use to be one of those people but I have learned that every hand is not a good hand
