    Default Superfluous Threads

Incredible amount of new threads last couple of months. Seems some people are trying too hard.

    Should be:
    +$100 for useful threads
    -$200 unnesessary threads

LOL that's funny...last time I checked the whole point to having a forum is for people to post threads...

Do you eat paint chips? I agree with liladypokerpro, reguardless of the post, it is still read and while some may think it is useless others might find it to be of use.

I gotta agree with John here, but I don't think it's necessarily the fault of the posters. Every thread started (with the exception of this one, I'll bet) gets nominated as post of the week whether they provide any insight at all. I mean, a few weeks ago, a poster asked what you wear when you play poker and it got chosen as a finalist. Really? I play online in my underwear, gimme $100.

I guess it beats no one posting at all.....

According to the ptotw rules, the threads chosen as nominees must be "Poker Related" to qualify. In the beginning of the contest, before the drama with Ungarstu and his multiple ghost accounts, the threads were being voted on according to relevance and helpfulness, or their overall topic interest.

Now that the moderators choose to have members play for the money, rather than voting (to keep it fair), there must be more nominees than originally were. So, when there are so few of us that are regularly posting topics, you've got to expect that some of the nominees now will be "less than interesting" topics.

BUT, as long as they are "Poker Related" they still qualify according to the rules.

****Let us not forget that Rakeback is offering this contest to us as a "perk" ~ therefore it would be senseless to charge members for posting to the forum just because a handful of people may not like their thread. Rakeback does not HAVE to offer this perk to us, so we should appreciate it for what it is and be adults about it.****

Simply Put. Post What you Have, (poker related) if the mods choose you play a sit and go GREAT!. To me it seems more interesting. You Chose if you Win the Money. Not your AOL Buddy List.

    Perfectly said.

If you do not want to read a post, skip it. If you do not like a particular poker topic or author, skip it. Post if you want, skip if you want. The fact is there is a contest ongoing, people are going to post more threads. There have been good threads and bad threads, thats fine as long as there are threads. Personally it is making me think about poker even more than I thought possible.

Thanks Rakeback for another fine promotion.

Many forums die off due to lack of activity and lack of posting. Even if their is a large number of lame-o threads posted, it's still activity. The beautiful thing about a forum is that you can read posts from all types of people, included those type of people that you would never hang out with in the real world.

I think the whole point of a forum is to see what other people are thinking, whether it's retarded or not. Believe me I have poste plenty of retared stuff in my days an read way more.
