Hi/Movie coming out on DVD

Hi,

My name is Stefan, but most people call me Stef (or Steve). I am 45 years old and live in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Currently I have been out of work for a long time and currently have no income except for some side jobs I have done for Friends.

My health has been pretty bad for the last couple of years so I have been unable to work a steady job because of it...and I can't seem to get any State aid either because I don't have enough medical records to determine me disabled. Problem is I don't have the money to see the appropiate Doctors to get these documents...and I can't seem to get the paperwork from the few free clinics they have around here because they have Nurse practioners who see you there and not actual Doctors. So I am pretty much screwed all the way around.

I had a decent paying job job 9 years ago, but I left it took take care of my Mother. She had a Stroke and was paralyzed on her left side after that, and had bouts of dimentia. She needed 24 hour care. My Brother, and I promised her a long time ago that we would never put her in a nursing home. So the two of us too care of her Full time, and it was the hardest Job I have ever had. One of us always had to be awake with her at all times, and for some jobs we both needed to be with her because she was a heavy Woman.

She finally passed away 3 years ago after she got a flu shot and within a day of that catching Pneumonia.

I had a decent sized Bank account when I left my job (enough to pay cash for a moderate sized house), But it depleted quickly during the time of taking care of my Mom, and these last few years. (medicare did not take care of of all the costs of all her meds so I had to take care of the difference...plus buying special protein foods for her, and other necessities)

Between being not well quite often, and being out of the loop for awhile, I haven't been able to get my foot in the door anywhere in my field. (I am a CNC Programmer and Operator) It also doesen't help that MI has been the worst State for Employment for Quite awhile now...unless you wan't a minimum wage Job

I live with My Brother now and he has been covering most of the Bills recently by taking cash advances on his Credit cards...His credit has always been good, but it won't last long if he keeps taking advances. We might have to sell this place eventually if things don't pick up, and the housing market is horrendous.

Haven't had a social life in almost a decade...heck I haven't even had sex in over 7.5 years now. LOL (have to laugh otherwise it hurts). My only social life is the internet.

Well enough for now about my whining about my life.

I wanted to bring up a Poker Movie that is coming out on DVD June 10th if no one else has mentioned it yet on these Forums? It is called "The Grand" and stars many Hollywood, and Poker celebrities in it. It is a Comedy, somewhat of a Mocumentary. I downloaded it, and you can too if you are involved with one of the Peer-to-Peer programs out there. Haven't watched it yet but it got somewhat decent reviews on IMDB. Hi Stef...I am so sorry about your mom, hun. And the health problems affecting your life (I can relate). It is so good that you seem to have such a good attitude considering all that is going on. My friends pretty much are solely on the internet as well, as I haven't gotten out much at all until very recently due to my own health struggles. All I can offer up is a few words of encouragement: Stay strong, keep your head up, and don't ever give up. The worst things always seem to happen to the best people, but surviving those struggles is what keeps you strong. If you can beat the toughest of struggles, the rest of life is a piece of cake. So keep fighting, keep believing, and I will hope for nothing but blessings for you and your family.

Welcome to the site!! I will check out the movie sounds cool. Lilady is right bad things always happen to good people, but I believe this is because god knows the good people have the strength to deal with it better. I wish you the best.

It seems you have been on a hard road for some time now. Keeping your promise to your mother is both honorable and commendable. Too many people put their parents and grandparents in 'homes' these days.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, I too live in Michigan and am also unemployed. The availability of jobs in our state is horrible, and you have to jump through impossible hoops to get any help. I wish you luck and I hope all works out for you soon.
