Default Who's the best 'Amateur turned pro'? Did they deserve it?(2)

I have been wondering which amateur turned pro by winning the Main Even of the WSOP is the best out of them all. Many of my buddies say that none of them deserved to win that coveted bracelet. This is a dispute that I have been having with them for quite some time.

I don't know which is the best personally, but I do think that some of them did get really lucky or else they wouldn't have gotten the title, but that is poker. But then again, some of them did make some really good plays, and some good reads/lay downs. But I would really like to hear what you all think so I could further discuss this with my poker buddies.

And if it's any consolation, who do you think is the best pro?

I think that Scotty Nguyen and Daniel Negreanu are the best at reading people, making good plays, and basically having a good time while playing poker.

Heres the link to the other thread that isn't getting too much attention: http://www.rakeback.com/poker-forum/...-deserve-3782/

Your dead on about Negreanu, he is one of the best at reading others for sure. What comes to the "Prince of Poker", IMO, he isn't anything special at reading people, he is just sort of reckless and hyper-aggressive. He just pushes, shoves, and runs his mouth(not in a Hellmuth way, lol) and wins pots through that.

On topic, I'd say that Hachem and Raymer are the top ones from that list, and have had decent success after their main event wins as well.

BTW: why the same thread again?
Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.

I wanted to see if anyone had any other opinions. I wanted people to give different answers. Not a lot of people voted in the last poll, but looks like theres not that much voting here either.

Like I said in my previous post, I am trying to get some new opinions. I want people to tell me why other people won it, or why they think someone shouldn't have won the Main Event.
