Default Making it to the Final Table

What do you think are some of the keys to making it to the final table in multi-table tournaments?

In the last 6 multi-table touneys i've entered (all with 300 entrants or more) ,
    finished (not in this order..lol) 5th 6th 8th 12th 18th and 51st (bubbled out 51st argh...lol)

I think one of the keys is being patient. My motto is patience pays. It's hard sometimes to just sit there folding when your card dead, But all it takes is a good run of cards to put you back on top.
NEVER give up just because your low on chips. Lots of people go into panic mode when they fall below 1K even when blinds are still low. I have comeback from 300 or less chips many times.

I haven't had the thrill of 1st place yet, I think I lose my patients once I hit the final table after 4 to 6 hours of play. Definately gets harder to fold power hands when the blinds get big.

Anyone want to share their keys or comments let me have your input, all replies appreciated.

I play 9 man S&G's 95% of the time, so i'd figure this would help me when I make the final table, but never finished a huge field better than 2nd.
I guess i got the attitude that well i made it to the final table, i'm in the money, lets get risky...lol

    Default Hurdles Abound

When you play in a large MTT you will have to win a number of heads up all-in situations. This number increases as the entrant pool grows. No matter how loose or tight, you will face these situations on the way to the final table and beyond. You will not always have a 90-10% advantage in these situations. Play disciplined like mentioned and you will give yourself the best chance to make it to the final table.

Once seated at the final table keep playing the game that got you there. You should adjust play and open up some as the number of players decrease. Your mind should be decent after a few hours of play. If not, maybe less beer is in order, just do not tell me that one. If you find yourself mired in a long tourney, maybe sitting out for a round or two would help. Watch your cards in case AA comes, if not, take a mind break.

You are making it to final tables, good. Do not lean heavily on yourself for not getting a first yet. It will come. The first battle is getting to the final table, you are doing that, now go clear your head and bang out a win.
