Fergeuson said to not buy into a cash game or sit n' go with more than 5% and to leave the cash game if you hit 10%. I think he did say for multi-table tournies not more than 1-2%, but I'm confident in my tournament play. (I feel that I am a much better tournament player than cash game) So I've stretched the 5% rule to cover everything.
It's kept me strict enough to manage my bankroll effectively, and it's working so far.
Think for yourself. Question authority.
Also, if you're only single tabling a cash game, and you're a winning player, 20 buyins might not even be enough. If you're mass multi-tabling, 50 buyins would be a more appropriate number if you don't want to start feeling the pressure.

Thanks, I understand what you are saying and certainly agree. In my application 5% is a maximum. My MTT buy-ins usually don't come close to the 5% threshmark. They are usually around 2%-3%. For example, right not my bankroll is $302.95 and my MTT buy-ins range from $5 to $10.
Anther point is that most of my tournies are not massive. The MTT events I usually play are around 27 ppl.
If I'm cashing in this events 26% of the time, I don't think it's that absurd.
Ahh. I thought you meant more of the conventional MTT's. Are 3 table tourneys not called sngs anymore?
Think for yourself. Question authority.
They're still Sit n' Gos, but when Fergeuson laid out his rules he only mentioned 1-table Sit-n-Gos under the 5% rule. I think it was just assumed that everything else fell under the %1-%2 rule.
Anyways, the account is up to $356.48!!!!!....Still chugging along
I just crossed the $400 mark!!!
The account is now at $415.13!!!
I don't think anyone follows this forum any more, but my attempt at the Ferg Challenge is now at $823.74.
Congrats Walsh, keep it up! I would have kept up with this forum but I haven't even played poker in the last few months so i haven't made any progress. I've been stuck at the $5,000 mark for a while now. I'm going to try to get back into it now, I'll do what I can to keep you guys posted with any progress.
Am I correct that even if someone replicated the titanous Ferguson challenge won't be allowed to withdraw a single dollar?
And at that point could a minimal deposit (I think it' now 10$) be enough to unlock the entire amount and have it ready for withdrawing?
Does anybody know if it works like that or maybe Full Tilt has some further restricions or limitations on the issue?
I play good poker in higher stakes then freerolls. Best cash in Freeroll is 45 in that sunday game from the 250 freeroll all week to get in. But freeroll is loose play and you can bet good with ace's and still get beat with some one that calls with 2 5 off suit. I tired to even sit out for a while to have alot of donks KO before i start to play because big stacks will call you with anything to knock you out. But that is not working also. Whats a good way to play in a freeroll at the starts of the tour. The button is another way i tried and that seems little better. If you can help me out on what you do in freerolls early starts let me know. TY for your replies on this tread.![]()
