Anything under $50 I am ok with, you know, like gamer transfering his $35 to FTP, but anything higher and screw that.

Could not agree more. If I want to play at a different site than the two I am at, I will either play freerolls or deposit (which I will not do, since my two accounts are doing fine). There are scammers everywhere and all must beware.

I do not quite know what happened either but it must have had to do with transferring money between sites. The link goes to a poker transfer site. Well this site is very new and trying to get up and going. That invites trouble when money is involved. Their site is not even debugged, the html content is fragmented and the frames do not line up on my screen. Website appearance should send up a red flag that these guys may not know entirely what they are doing. I would not trust them with a penny of my poker money.

Take care of yourself, especially online, there are scammers behind every key stroke.

To clarify, I don't believe 100% of his scams involved poker transfers, as there is reference to him on Ebay as well...but the vast majority did involve poker transfers, and on multiple trading sites.

Apparently he did everything from begging for money, to falsely initiating a transfer through private messaging and instant messaging, in which the other party directly transferred to him first, and he did not transfer back.

The site where this thread originated, pokertransfersonline.com, strictly forbids player to player transferring within the site, but we all know how smooth-talkers can pursuede someone to go underground, which inevitably was the mistake of the users, and not the site.

Pokertransfersonline.com has since disabled all Private Messaging on the site, to avoid further instances from occurring.

I'm just glad it was caught and stopped, although where there is one, there are always others waiting for their opportunity.

For anyone that does deal with transferring poker money, be sure to always use your trusted host, never transfer privately, and you should have no problems.

Hmm, where there's money, there are scammers... I don't know, I personally (not knowing exactly how the scams have happened, though) would blame the people that got scammed. Pretty much their own fault being so trusting. If I wanted to play at some other site than the ones I play at, I would deposit there, or transfer money from another poker site to either PayPal or Neteller, and then from there to the new poker site. Thanks for posting this though.

I can't think of a single reason to actually transfer money via other players (people i only know online would be just stupid) but I guess there are some limitations based on where you live. Pretty simple here, money goes to the site from my cc and comes back there 24h after I request a withdrawal. Why would you want to play on a site your country is banned on anyway?

People can't play on sites their country is banned on. Not if they ever want to see a withdrawal anyway. Many sites now require a copy of photo identification to prove you are who you say you are, to cut down on fraud. So, if you live in US and create an account for a Norway address and try to take a withdrawal using that fake address, you just made some lucky Norwegian very happy *kidding*


The US gov't doesn't like online poker because it's the only money they can't figure out how to control and profit from. So they illegalized it. But, US players can still play on many sites not based or created on US soil. The problem is, many withdrawal options are still not available for US residents. So many of us have to withdraw by paper check.

The transferring of poker money is helpful when someone has a great deal of money on a particular site, but wants to use some of that money on another site. Or, they offer up a trade of funds with someone who already has money on the site they want to participate on.

Many sites allow the players to transfer amongst each other, leaving the door wide open for scams. Pokertransfersonline owners personally handle each transfer, to help eliminate the possibility of scams. The issue with the above scammer came from people using the Private Messaging system to trade funds, or instant messengers against the site's regulations.

So, as Fictive said previously, it was unfortunately the participants' fault who got themselves scammed. Had they followed the rules of the site, they'd have gotten their money.

I just stumbled upon this thread.

The website that posted this mess is indeed my website. While it is true that we are an up-and-coming (May I say we lead the 'transfer industry' by a million miles?) site, we have and continue to do everything in our power to keep the site scammer proof. There has been hundreds of successful trades on the site, and this has been the sole 1 case of a partial scam. Infact the only cash he scammed anyone on our site, was from myself. Actually my daughter. He scammer a 'nintendo wii' but thats a story for another day.

I simply posted the post up after investigating an issue from a prior helpful hand. Upon investigating it was found that he was indeed the infamous iPhone scammer. He has even appeared on television.

As for the actual HTML, coding etc. All the coding on the site is up-to-date and compatible with all browsers with the exception of people who run the oldest IE. If the site is not properly aligning itself, you may want to update your current browser as I am sure other sites are messing up as well.

We appreciate any and all feedback and welcome you guys to pick my brain or come up with a better way of completing the transfers. We are constantly working to improve the site, and nobody helps more then our visitors.
