I have to disagree with that. Especially early in the tournament it's always pretty wild, and limpers will call a raise of that size most of the time. Once one calls, the second limper calls, then the rest follow and you get beat by either ace-rag or or something like 57off...
I dunno, I always thought that early in the tournament it's pointless playing marginal hands because the pots are small any you stand to lose too often. Once the blinds get bigger, then it's time to play a little more hands because of the fact that pots get a) bigger and b) people start playing extremely tight/conservative.
Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.
