    xx/yy/zz: VPIP/PRF/AF - % puts money in voluntarily/ % of hands raised/ agression factor

*Please post the many abbreviations I have forgotten below this post and I'll add them to the list. If you would, please include a simple definition (if you know it) with your post. This message is just a start and I expect it to grow.

Alright, I think I have all the ones from above (with the exception of FU because that's what someone on the table would say to you and not a term we would be using to discuss a hand). Can anyone think of any we missed? No rush... as I read the forum and see the acronyms I am sure I will remember the ones we're missing.

M = Small+Big+ Ante (if there is an ante) from each player / stack = number of times you can survive going around a table.

Example: 100/200 blinds with 25 ante @ 10 Player table. That's 550. Suppose you have 5500 in chips.......5550/550 = 10. Your M = 10. You still good, you can handle ten times around the table at these blinds before you go broke. Once your M is below 5, your considered red zoned and you need to max out your aggression. The higher the M is, the less aggressive you can make your game play and be patient and wait for good spots.

    Optimal M is .....M= 20 or higher

Q= Your stack in realtion to the Tourney average. You have 10K chips, the average stack is 5K in the Tourney. Your Q is 2.

    Optiaml Q is .... Q = 1

When considering moves based on Aggression, take in consideration M and Q but M is always the stronger force. So when in doubt, Q is out!

First off, this is a Great Thread! Thanks to all for their contributions...be they informative or just plain entertaining!

CO: Cut Off position; immediately to the right of the dealer

    OC: Open call; first position

    ROI: Return on investment

"don't post too much of this, we want to keep a few donks to make a living of don't we?" LOL

"FU - Another player is mad you just took their chips" LOL

"Wouldn't that be RIO vs ROI?"
I'd rather a return on investment than reverse implied odds.....LOL

M: is the ratio of your $ stack divided by the sum of the SB, BB and total antes for a round.

(see: M-ratio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Q: is the sum of your current chips divided by your starting chips multiplied by the current number of players in tourney divided by the starting number of players.

(see: Q-ratio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
