What limits do you usually play?

Lately I have only had enough money to play .25-.25NL online and if in the casino $1-$2NL. I have been doing fairly well and just the other night I ran $10.00 buy in up to $100.00 so that gave me some extra play money. I really would like to have more money to play the higher limits because I feel that you get a different quality of player in those games.

Personally I play NL50. But only recently moved there. So far with good success. I have been playing NL10 for about a year and moved to NL25 where I stayed for a couple of months before I had the bankroll (and then some) for NL50 where I am currently playing.

Yeah I prefer playing NL50 mainly because the quality of the players are much better. I feel all too often reckless players get rewarded down in NL10 but it's a different story when you go all in with $50.

I find playing at the lower limits can be very very dull.. If I'm playing in a low limit game, its pretty much just abc poker for me.. if i dont have the nuts or very near to it, i'll release the hand quite often.. I find at the lower limits, most people dont even notice how tight you've been playing and still give you lots of action when you hit big.

I like playing the .10-.25NL or the .25-.50NL to start out with on a new site/software, but I will bump it up to .50-1.00NL once I get used to the table and players.

Quite true. Novice players are still learning the game mechanics and have not yet developed the perception skills to monitor all other players at the table. I recall that whem I was learning to play, all I was able to manage was staring at my own cards and trying to figure out what to do with them.

Yeah, Its a difficut skill to master to be certain.. I still have a very hard time with it at a live poker table, but I think I can do fairly well when playing online.. one of the things ive been working on in my live game is keeping constant runnig track of how much is in the pot so I dont always have to think about pot odds when its my turn to make a decision... I started online, so I've been crippled by the "POT: x$" labels on the online sites

I hear that. I catch myself having to look and re-look at the turn and river cards on a real table because I have grown accustomed to the online systems telling me what I have automatically and not even paying attention to my actual hand. I realize that isn't good and I have become better than I used to be, but still, having the computer tell you what you have is both good and bad.

I usually play .50 - 1.00NL depends on how my money is.. sometimes I have to go down to .25NL.

Trust me, I have been playing for about 40 years and the fact of the matter is that no matter what the limits you play you are going to get yahoos. The problem with online is that they know you will never meet them so if they have the money to push they will. At the B&M's, especially in AC or Vegas you will find the same kind of people. One night in 2 hours at a $1/$2 no limit $200.00 buy-in a guy went down $8K. He didn't care he had the money to throw around. He came back the next night and the dealer told me all about him while he was getting a coffee. He said look to your left for the sucker. And by gum it was. I took $800 off him in about 1/2 an hour. Unfortunately, I had to leave to meet friends for supper so that was the end of that. But no matter where I play, I always seem to find them.

Anyway, while I really enjoy playing poker online, I am fairly conservative by nature, and like to keep the limits fairly low. That way I can enjoy the skill and experience of the game, without worrying that I might lose my shirt.

I guess that's just my personality; I'm someone who also enjoys the nickel slots in Vegas.

For me I play the lowest limits possible. Since I still kind of new to whole scence I don't see the point in throwing the money away. I am in it for the experience now not the cash. I can't imagine being down 8k. That is just unreal.

I usually do about .25NL or sometimes .50-1.00NL if I feel like I might have a good chance. I started out as low as possible in the beginning. Now that I feel more confident I will probably start going higher.

I like the no limits the best. It makes for a far more interesting game. But I guess starting out, low limits are better for learning.

If you like to play and don't like to loose, I would say keep a very low spending limmit. You can have a $5 spending limmit and play all night. If you are a high better then you will need to make a higher spending limmit. I think starting off low and see how it works for you first ad then graduallky increase your spending limmit if you think that it's not enough for you.

I always say start off with what you can afford to loose. Don't play big if you are scared to loose big. Start off slow and play what feels right to you. Everyone has a limmit. If you cant afford to loose then don't play. Its very simple. Just play smart and have fun.

Well as far as the limits I play, it depends on how much money I have on that site online. In a live casino I would normally play $1/$2 no limit with a $100-$200 buyin or a $3/$6 limit game and buy in for $100. If I lose that $100 then I go play some slots for a while.

Yeah The quality of players you can never really predict. I have been playing poker for 3 years now, my dad had taught me how to play. I still get a bit unsteeled before a game..I can't help it. the truth is, you will meet novices and experts the same in all games alike. The quality of players really doesn't change that much ( at least to me) in .25NL. I've played novices reguardless of which NL. I like online poker alot better than real poker, to me it takes some pressure off. I really dont know why.
