Late Register for just about all their scheduled tournaments. How do you feel about the registering staying open up to 10 minutes after the tourney has already started?

Honestly, I don't mind it one bit. There are several ral life tournaments that allow the same thing as long as they are inteh first level or two and/or they have space remaining.

And do I really care if people hop in late? If anything it adds more money to the prize pool.

I think it's a great idea.

While I do not play at Full Tilt, I do not mind late registration. But, 10 minutes is too long, I have seen 5 minutes of late registration which I think is a better time frame. The tourney is scheduled, if you can not make it, too bad, sign up earlier.

I can understand a poker room having late registration on guaranteed tourneys where they can be stuck with making up the difference, but most, if not all I have seen (even at smaller sites) get enough players where the cardroom is putting up a very small amount anyways.

Late registration for all tourneys is a bad idea. The cardroom should just schedule the thing 10 minutes later. Like I stated above, these things are scheduled and available for some time before the start time, how hard is it to register for a tourney, it takes all but 5 seconds. If you are late, too bad, the door should be locked, move on to the next game, there is always one available. It does not cost the cardroom a dealer salary for another game, the system takes care of that, so why the big worry about late players?

Also, you have shorthanded tables to allow for the late comers. Playing for an entire blind level shorthanded is a substandard way to start a tourney.

Ultimate Bet allows late tourny registration up to third blind esclation in most cases, which they call "open for alternates." It continues to boost the prize pool and the number of in-the-money finishers. You also avoid all the donks going all-in the first few hands. The one tourny I registered late I finished 4th, so I like it. Before entering, you should view the current leaders and see if anyone is way, way out in front (i.e. like 10x the starting stack). If leaders only have 2x or 3x the starting stack, it's still worth it.

I think it's a good idea but i too belive 10 minutes is too long, you could enter a tourney thinking it's a field of about 80 players and will take about 2 hours but end up in a 300 player 5 hour job, not ideal. Personally i hate ultimate bets alternates list system, you can be waiting on the list for 20 minutes or more then end up not even getting in. Also if you do just about make it in time, you come in effectively short stacked compared to the average despite having paid the same entry fee as everybody else, you miss out on a lot of hands. They'd be better off having a set number of late reg seats up for grabs and if you get one you go straight into the tourney.

Ten minutes?? Good grief LOL I had to vote "Meh!!" because that is just waaaay too long. Perhaps they got tired of shelling out the difference in some of the tourneys? Oh well at least people who play in guarantees and get rakeback now stand less of a chance of taking a "Player Added Deduction" hit to their rakeback...but that's the only positive thing I can think of about it.

It's also nice for those times that you may have had every intention of playing in an event and were just a little slow getting to it.

Maybe you got out of work late or were out with the family for dinner or something.

Personally, I'm fine with letting people in up until the second blind level personally, so the FT setup seems fine.

i find this to be HILARIOUS, honestly, would you avoid late registering for a tourney wth 300 players if the top ten read the following:

1st-11,000
2nd-3500
3rd-3400
4th-3300
5th-3250
6th-3200
7th-3150
8th-3100
9th-3050
10th-3000

?? that makes no sense, almost every tourney will have one, maybe even TWO players way out in front after about 5-10 minutes(except for the higher buy in events such as $50+)...

i would like to hear a response about this, im jsut curious as to what you are thinking.

The reu reality is that is doesn't matter. If nother happened in 10 minutes, then so be it. That dwould likely have happened anyway. Someone always shoots out to a big lead in the first level or two.

If you want a shot at the money and you've got nothing going on, hop in. If anything, late registration is only going ot be big in the lower buy-in or promotional tournaments (like FT's Daily Double). Otherwise, it shouldn't be a big deal.

I think it is rather cool that they let people sign up late. The prize pool goes up and im all for that. On the other hand the tournys are posted sometimes for 24 hours in advance, not like they didnt know about them especially some one who plays alot. All in all i have no problem with it, but they should at least only make it for 5 min.
