Default Online Cash Game Play vs. Casino Play

I'm wondering if those players like myself who play online and in the casino have noticed what I've noticed. At the casino, $1-2 NLHE, I find most players play tighter with a few aggressive younger guys, and most pots raised preflop. More traditional by-the-book play, with some bluffing. And it's rare to see all-ins except when a player's short stacked.

Online, everyone plays loose, many more limped pots, and just a ton of all-ins. You almost can't bluff online because if your opponent has even middle pair or a draw, he's calling your river bet regardless. And many players buy in for less than the max it seems because they know they're donks (or there just for entertainment) and limit their exposure to bad plays, and then just re-load. All the nuances of thinking what he's thinking your thinking are meaningless.

    You find anything like this?
If you always stop while you're ahead, you'll never lose.

I find the exact opposite. At the local live rooms, the $1/$2NL is often worse than $10NL online. Yes, there is a lot more raising but more calls too. I see people making it $16-$24 pre-flop and getting 3-4 people calling behind. What is even worse is that these games usually have a 50xBB max buy-in.

And I've seen people move all-in, in the dark, for 50xBB without having cards yet... and get callers... also without cards yet. It's not an every hand type thing... usually happens after some sort of stupid beat... but I've seen it.

Online, I find people tend to play more sensibly... limping a lot... sure... but aside from that... and staying around too long... it's generally more passive and tighter play.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

I have to agree. I play a local 1/2 game and it plays much more like a 2/5 game. There are often raises to $20 preflop getting 2-3 callers. This rarely happens online.

It could just be your neck of the woods and we might have more gamble in Texas

    Default on line BS

Live play vs. on line play
    where do I start?

First, do you play the same way?

Live play offers 'reading' people and playing the cards that beat the read.

On line could give you anything, since most are playing without the knowledge they need to really suceed at poker.

    Feeling lucky, play on line.

Playing live offers good players the ability to read the player.

I wish I could play more live games, but I will take what I can get on line.
