Default A horrible shove at $25NL

    0: CO: $24.23
    1: Button: $24.29
    2: SB: $24.00
    3: BB: $17.52
    4: UTG: $21.74
    5: MP1: $68.34

SB posts $0.10, BB posts $0.25, 4 folds, SB calls $0.15, BB checks

    Flop: T J K (Pot $0.50)

SB bets $0.25. BB calls $0.25

    Turn: T J K A (Pot $1.00)

SB bets $0.75, BB calls $0.75

    River: T J K A Q (Pot $2.50)

SB bets $22.75, BB calls $16.27 ($6.48 returned to SB)

    Final pot: $33.29 Rake: $1.75

    SB collects: $16.65
    BB collects: $16.64

On this play they lost $0.87 and $0.88 respectively. It could have been $0.06 if the SB had played logically. That said, the BB could not fold to the shove... as folding leaves him with $16.27 and calling gets him $0.37 more than folding. But what a horrific shove at the end. There is absolutely no way this isn't a split pot. Why toss away an extra $0.81 cents in rake?

I wasn't in this hand... but it blew me away when I saw how retarded this shove was.
I get no respect. . . when I move all-in, people from other tables call.

    Default Hmm

I agree Frob, any player should be able to read the board and determine it will be split. All they did was give more to the house. The only thing I can say on behalf of the one shoving is this is still a low level game. Either the better is uneducated in the game of holdem or maybe they were willing to take the risk that the other would actually fold. My bet is the player was thinking in tournament mode where you pay rake only once, not with every bet.

It was a poor move that only the house could approve.

This is an OK move to pull if you think opponent will fold, but it only works when its not the nut straight on board :P

I've seen this too, except the other player folded and then responded with a string of cuss words because he didn't realize the nut straight was on the board.

Probably the most obvious showmanship of donkiness I have ever seen. What good poker player would shove all-in when you know the more money you put into the pot the more rake they take. So why give money away on a winning hand? I agree, there is no logical explination to why someone should shove there with a guaranteed split pot unless he doesn't know what he is doing and is a complete donk.
