Default Party like Barak! Party like Obama!

So as most of you in the USA know, Barak Obama is the new President of the United States of America. He is the first African-American (well, half) man to step into the White House. I haven't been following up on this years election until recently, so I don't know much about Baraks campaign, or Johns. If someone would please tell me, I would be grateful, but it's not mandatory.

This is an historic moment in history for the US. Many people I have been talking about say this would be the best step up for the economy, the war, and better in general as a whole. But like I stated before, I did not follow there campaigns. I am putting my faith in Barak Obama, as I have no choice now.

Now don't get me wrong, I was not saying I wanted one person to win over the other, I am just saying that I am putting my faith in Barak as other people have.

I was watching the polls come in the news, and in the middle of them trying to figure out who would win, before all the points were tallied, there was a message saying that Barak Obama is our new 44th President of the United States. The votes were still coming in and he was guaranteed to win. We were joking around that: 'John McCain was drawing dead on the turn!'

So what is everyone else's opinion? I know you don't have to post your views, but it would be nice to know what people thought Barak was all about in this election, and people thought McCain was all about.

I for one am pleased. They were showing the age range of the voters, and the only age range that voted more for John than Barack was the Senior Citizens. Surprisingly enough, Race was hugely less of an issue with voters than age. That speaks volumes. My main concern about John was his seeming episodes of temporary dimensia. It was quite bothersome for me because as Wyte loves to say I read people like a book LOL Anyway, watching debates, John appeared to phase in and out during his talks, sometimes even forgetting what he was talking about. Luckily for him he chose a brilliant running mate in Palin, and she brought his chances back to a point where he at least stood a minor fighting chance against Obama.

Barack on the other hand was always very articulate and to the point, and always right on top of every question, as was his wife. They both seem like very emotionally attached people to the working class Americans, whereas John was very much detached from modern America and technology. My only concern with Barack is that I disagree with his running mate choice. I just hope nothing happens to Barack that would put his Vice-President in charge, because frankly the man doesn't have nearly enough experience to run this country in the event something happened.

I guess overall I'm pleased with the outcome for a great many reasons...the above examples are just a few of those. This election it really had nothing to do with my being a Democrat...I was willing and ready to vote for the better man this time, regardless of party. However, it just so happened that the better man fell into my category.

I'm not overall please with Obama winning the election. As far as the economy is concerned, Democrats are largely to blame for the housing collapse as a result of the Community Reform Act. Obama fought for this act on more than one occasion. The Act basically insured people with No job, No income, No assets could qualify for a mortgage. The banks did not want to go along but the government, controlled by a Democratic congress, basically forced them and made Fannie and Freddie guarantee the loans. The Republicans tried to intervene on more than one occasion but the Democrats screamed discrimination. I do not feel it is discriminating by making someone QUALIFY for a mortgage. In any event, all of these NINJA loans came back and Fannie and Freddie went belly up along with many, many banks.

As far as Obama, I am more concerned with his foreign policy and his lack of experience. I think many people voted for Obama simply as a result of the cyclical nature of our society. In the long run, one man on the hill does not make that much of a difference as Congress ultimately runs the show.

If Peggy is right then we're all set. No need to worry about paying for gas or paying off our mortgages, Obama is going to do it for us...[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6ikOxi9yYk&feature=related]YouTube - Peggy Joseph Thinks She Won't Need To Worry About Paying For Her Gas And Mortgage Under Barack Obama[/ame]

Clearly her comments were taken way out of context. I understood exactly what she meant. Many people worry about HOW they are going to pay for their gas and mortgages with the economy in the shambles it's in...by her leaving out one word, tyipcal youtube exploitation resulted.

I believe yesterday was one of the darkest days in our country's history. The poorly educated american voters chose style over substance, anti-traditional american principles over historically-tested virtues.

To be fair, I am a staunch conservative ( I don't say republican anymore as I think I have been deserted by them). I have a strong contempt for G W Bush. He had an amazing opportunity...and blew it badly. I was not a supporter of McCain until it became clear that Obama would get the nomination. As much as I despise Hillary Clinton, if she had gotten the dems nod I would have voted for a 3rd party candidate like Alan Keyes (a black man...hmmm, means I can't be opposed to Obama on race). But I truly believe, from the research I and others have done, that Obama is an extremely leftist ( and even evil ) man. His associations with Rezko, Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Khalid Rashidi, prove him to be a vile and dangerous man. But the uneducated populace along with EXTREME help from a very biased media thought it would be cool to vote for the black man with the funny name.

I believe that our country is teetering on the precipice of total failure now. A very small window may be open...but it may have closed. How we can be embracing an economic policy that failed in the USSR, China, Cuba, Rhodesia, Sweden, etc is frightening.

I used to be a part of the republican structure at the precinct and state level, and lost interest in the late 90's early 2000's because all my idealogical brethren were changing or leaving. I will go back into the structure for the next 2 years and push for conservatives to truly rise up and duplicate the miracle of 1994 again. We need Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Steve Largent, and other young guns to take us back to the RIGHT side, where freedom and prosperity reign. If we can't make huge congressional inroads in 2010, and kick Obama out in 2012, I fear that this country will be on the steep down-slope into the slag-heap of history. We'll go from the Roman Empire to a short term Byzantine economy...that eventually was over-run because of it's cultural and moral weakness. If that is what you prefer, then blindly support the media's chosen side. If you'd like to see Reagan's "Shining City on a Hill" reappear, then read/learn history. Get educated and join the conservative army to win back the hearts and minds of our citizenry.

Anyone else terrified of a ONE SIDED GOVERNTMENT? Take a look a the "Balance of Power". The name says it all and is unfortunatley no more. The majority of the govn't lies in the blue now which gives zero resistance when there is an issue that deserves TWO sides. Complete democratic control will shake, if not topple the whole foundation on which this country was derived. We need a lot of help and I truley believed Mccain was the lessor of two evils.

LOL wow I'd hate to live somewhere where people judged other people's character by their name...
I am Native American, so my Native name is Unule Ulisgita... Luckily my parents were aware of what a sad pathetic prejudiced world we live in, so I was given a more "normal" legal name to use on employment applications and in school...

It should probably also be noted that there is no such thing as a lesser evil when it comes to politics... it's all about money and power... both of which lead to coveting... I could swear that was against one of the golden rules of the 10 commandments...

Yep same thing with me, my actual name is Anatoli Ivanov and I am native russian but born in Estonia so I am not estonian and its true that a lot of people judge you just for your name or nationality. But in my situation i created a "new" name myself actually it wasn't me but my English teacher who was just calling me Tony so now I am using it when I communicate in some international team. So when people hear my name they will think about me as a "normal" legal person as lilady said. I know a lot of people will say lol man you do need to be scared of your name or nationality its true but I am who I am and I feel like that more comfortable

Thanks Tony Nice to see there are some that understand. Being in our situation I suppose makes us a rare breed of people...we understand not to judge a book by its cover...or in the case of people, not to judge them by their name, race, origin or family. Personally, all the complaining in the world won't change the fact that Obama is going to be our President. Just keep in mind, if you are a religious believer, that God has power over men...not a President. So, rather than being so negative and bringing nothing but negativity back to yourself, why not just put faith in God that things will be alright. Last time I checked there is no one man who can overpower Faith...

Sorry it sounded that I was talking about his name but that is not what I ment. What I was trying to say was the name of the phrase "Balance of Power", not Obama's name should be looked at as there is no more balance when a mojority of republicans lost their seats. I reread what I posted and it did sound that way but I assure you thats not what I ment, lol.

Thanks for that clarification. It was hard to tell esp. since many people do bring up his full name, Barack Hussein Obama...granted, it's a name that rings a few negative bells, but a name is nothing more than a name. Some folks tend to forget that. And as for your intended meaning, I do agree that the so-called "balance" of power is leaning to one side worse than the tower of Pisa...

It appears Obama is already back-tracking on his middle-class tax cut campaign promises. Record time actually. It took Bubba Clinton 7 days AFTER inauguration before chosen to break his promise of a tax cut. Way to break a record Obama.
