Default if your friends play too...

I have always enjoyed casinos, particularly for blackjack and poker. My budget was kind of strained this year due to the current economic situation, so I pretty much had to cut back my gambling. I haven’t really said much in the forum, but I figured this was worth posting. For my birthday, my family chipped in to get me a custom built poker table from Progamingdepot. I never thought it could be affordable or doable, but it’s just a great addition to our house. I actually prefer having friends over to going gambling and spending the money at a casino. I highly recommend checking it out!

Wow they have some really nice tables...congrats on having one of your own. I actually used a dremel and a router to convert a dining room table into a poker table...was a tough but fun project. Best of all it was free

I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

    Default Home game fun

As the commissioner of the BPL I have devised a 12 event mini tourney schedule where we play for points.

Each week there is a regular night buyin, a high hand for the night, and 30% goes to the kitty for payouts at the end of the 12 week based on point standings.
(spreadout over 7 month time frame).

Side games can occur, and it's good clean fun

warning! Rivalries and true donkness can occur.

I love my table and so will you, especially when you are down to 2 players!

I love the home table that I built with my father while I was on break from college. We use the table all the time. Just one question... are you affiliated with the website you are promoting, or is this an actual recommendation and not a disguised spam advertisement?

If not, congrats on the table! Home games are quite fun.

I gotta beg to differ on the COOL tables. I converted my garage into a poker haven. It has holders on the wall that hold 4 tables that sit 8 at each this makes for a 5min setup for any pickup game my friends or I ever put together. I run usually 1-2 home games a week with anywhere from 6-30 guys. Its pretty fun. Its usually just $20+2 to get in (I charge $2 cause I stack the fridge full every week with asorted sodas and drinks and I have bags and bags of snacks. So i dont really make anything off the buy in. It just pays for my fat ass friends lol. BUT once about every 2-3 months we will hold the mini eliminator CHAMPIONCHIPSICKLE! Its the nickname it got. long story. But Its 3 events starting at noon on saturday with a $50 bounty tournament with $10 for each bounty. Its cool because you enter with $40 and we actually tape the $10 bounty to our body (I tape it to my forehead) and when someone knocks you out they get to rip it off you and take it. It makes for some fun times. Then when thats over we do a heads up tournament for $20 (usually half of us play) then some guys go home and we do a cash game with $100 sit down. $1-2 stacks. Then starting at noon the next day is the CHAMPIONCHIPSICKLE tournament. its a $100+your mom entry. Another joke that was voted into the name lol. Usually we get the same 14-18 guys and about 10 outsiders that come with friends. so it makes for a pretty fun weekend. After that we usually chill and play some $10 winner take all tournaments with micro stacks ( 1-2 blinds with 20 chips start)

If anyone is ever in portland oregon and wants to hit me up to see the weekend plan let me know.

Ya me and a couple of friends set it up a few years back. I mean its nothing fancy. We have a TV to watch sporting events but its not like huge or anything. Its not 5star by any means but I think its perfect for any die hard poker player. And we always welcome new players. Also One of my friends is a computer nerd and we were thinking of jump starting a small private site for it. THere is a new way to play tournaments that is safe that I came up with. I set up a site that holds money from paypal (paypal only right now cant find anythin g else that works) and you buy into the tournament using paypal and sending it to a online server that will enter you into the set of events. Then if you cash in an event a password will pop up that you can type into the provided box and it will automatically transfer the winnings back to paypal. I think its kinda cool. I have tried it out with a few friends now doing $5 things to test out the setup. Its got alot of glitches in it so I wont be startying anything yet. THe poker software he first tried for some reason thought that a flush was better than a full house lol. SO gotta fix that one LOL!!!

But ya home game the next big tournament is scedualed for the weekend before christmas and should be fun. I hope others who like the setup we do try it. We always have a blast. I feel like personalizing your homegame is what makes it fun and makes everyone want to come back and play more.

    If I wasn't 3000 miles away, I'd be there in a second.
If you always stop while you're ahead, you'll never lose.
