Default BullSh*t reply from Gov. Steve Beshear

What a joke...I send this guy pages of documentation and information, and he's still stuck on his biased opinion...it's obvious this dipwad didn't read a word of what I wrote...what a waste of my time.

Here's the reply I got back from Gov. Steve Beshear:

    November 25, 2008

Thank you for contacting me regarding Internet gambling. By acting to stop illegal, unlicensed, and unregulated gambling sites from taking advantage of Kentuckians, my administration is enforcing current law, not creating new legislation. It is important to defend the citizens of Kentucky, particularly our youth, from deception and predatory practices. As unregulated Internet gambling is illegal in Kentucky, I believe it is our responsibility to move forward with this action. These illegal sites also threaten Kentucky's legal forms of gaming - in horse racing, through the lottery, and at churches through bingo and charitable gaming. I am interested in protecting these legal and highly regulated forms of gaming, which are so important to our state.

Your views are important to me, and I am grateful for your willingness to be involved in Kentucky's future. Please feel free to contact me whenever an issue is important to you.

    Sincerely,

    Steven L. Beshear

If he honestly cared about the youth, then why is he making a big deal over this issue? All you would have to do is make it a taxable site and the whole gov. would just shut up as they would get LOADS of money by just sitting back and watching the tables with $500/$1,000 blinds give them money for EVERY pot they won. It's not that hard for them to keep it regulated.

I never knew that Internet was illegal in Kentucky according to there rules. Could you please tell me where to find these rules (I am only used to looking up California rules)?

But if only they put some sort of identification for Kentucky's residence, and monitored the traffic and not stopped it in general, then it would be more on the side of both the government and the avid poker players. The government would be taking some money, keeping the youth out of all the sites, and letting people still play.

But apparently it's much easier to try and enforce this rule all of a sudden when they never paid much attention to it in the first place...

Now i may be wrong, but didnt he say "unregulated" and "unlicensed gambling sites". I was under the impression most of the "big 4" sites (FT,UB,PS,AP) and others are regulated by the Kanawake regulatory commission (I have no idea if i spelled that even remotely close to correct). I can only assume he means "unregulated" or "unliscensed" by the US. Sounds like a load of crap. Someone must reach these feeble minded twits.

If it wasn't important to lady, why would she have sent pages and pages of documents to try and get you to reconsider!?!

That looks like a copy/pasted cookie cutter response that his staff just sends everybody. I bet he (or a member of his staff) did not read your letter at all.

    Better not re-elect him.

I'm pretty sure that's the case too, mollila, which is sad - tired - and pitiful. I wish I could control how the mindless zombies of this state vote...but oh well... I'm about ready to move again anyway lol....perhaps back to Alabama....haven't quite decided yet.
