there's a guy i know who refuses to play poker on the internet. i just know him, he's really friendly, and why shouldn't he be. i would say he's living his dream.
it started one day when i went to the liquer store to buy some wine. that's were i met him, he works as a clerk. but that i would say is not his real job. what else does he do, well for one he makes a lot more money at poker than he would ever make in that liquer store.
he's not very old, in his late twenties, he's got a good head on his shoulders, and like i said friendly. he would never be rude or out spoken, so a general good natured guy.
he would tell me of his poker ventures with ease, if i asked him, never bragging. and of course i always had to ask since this is something we have in common. and if you knew me you would know that i love talking about poker just as much as playing it.
i don't press him about playing online. since everyone has thier own preferences. but i know more people who mix it up; playing online and live. i have to admit he's doing his thing the right way.
this guy is a lucky guy, not in poker, because in poker he has skill to the tune of 3k a month. he's lucky because he's doing what he loves to do. maybe you think that's not a lot of money, but for sheridan wyoming it is. we have no casinos and the home games have to be sought out, not that easy to come by.
well this is just a little real life story about this guy. who at his age is doing very well in his poker career. he is content right were he is. and for now i'm sure that it is fine. i consider him a pro, since he brings in a monthly income from his poker playing. i just hope that someday he'll realise that he can take it to the next level. since in sheridan there is not much room for growth as a poker player/pro.
