Default After 10 hours of play

Okay i have a question. I play cash and tourneys. i was playing this morning started at about 7:30, and ended bout5:30 i play for long periods of time, and i was jus wondering after you play for so long does your judgement of play weaken. the reason i ask this is because i did good the first 6or 7 hours but i started noticing that i was losin more than i was winning,so i got to wonderin if its poor judgement of play cause the long hours, or i jus hit a string of bad luck . plaese feel free to give any information. i would really like to know what i should work on if its too many hours or jus occasional running bad. thank you

I would think that after that long you would become less sharp. I have never played for that long, but even after a few hours I notice myself making poor decisions. I usually try to take a break then and regroup and not play for an hour or so at least, most of the time not until the next day.

It does affect me. I play 5 tables at once, and after around 3-4 hours, I usually start playing a little too loose. I don't think I make any worse decisions post flop at any point, but preflop I start "wasting" a little money calling with some questionable hands. That's when I usually stop playing for the day.
Limit poker is a science, but no-limit is an art. In limit you are shooting at a target. In no-limit, the target comes alive and shoots back at you.

The longest I ever sat for a single session was 14 hours in a casino...and yes, you can totally get burnt out if you're not used to it, which at the time I wasn't since I had only probably prior to that point sat a max of 6 hours at any given time.

Anyway, you can usually tell when it's time to call it quits...your body will give you signals before your mind will engage and tell you so lol You just gotta pay attention to those signals and have the wherewithall to get up and stop playing when the time arises. Yes you're going to hit highs and lows, but it's almost guaranteed after a continuous long session you're going to get burnt out unless you're body is conditioned for those long drags.

Now a days I can sit 14 hours no problem, long as I have plenty of coffee and a bathroom nearby LOL But it took nearly a year to get to that point...so if you want to get yourself shaped up to do long drags like that, take it an hour at a time...slowly work your way up there...you'll be fine as long as you quit when it's time.

I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

If you're playing online, what I find best is that if playing cash games, I play for like 2hours, maybe 3 if I'm feeling good, then take a break for 30minutes, and repeat.

I use a "system" similar to this.

I usually multi-table some cash games while I'm playing a tourney or SnG. 5 minutes before the 1 hour break I will sit out in on all of the cash tables so I can actually take the break. I restart all of the cash tables after the break and play for another 1/2 hour. For the next 1/2 hour I play the MTT only, until the next break. After this and every future break, I open some cash tables, but only play them for 30-40 minutes. Rinse and repeat.

I had to come up with something, because I was noticing my results were dropping in both cash and MTT/SnG as time progressed.

    Default 10 hour tour

First of all, if you are playing for 10hours you are probably doing pretty good. (and good for you), but you will notice your play will continue with the same or you will play too agressive.

I will play for about 4-5 hours, but after that, I will push with sh*t.

Limit the play to cash. When you do to much of one thing, it will get boring.

And you know what boring can bring.

after playing for so long you start to get careless. I have found that when i play for too long i throw all my money away i start playing very tight and am very careful with my money and at the end i throw it al away like it is nothing. Why is online poker money not the same as real money i am very careful when playing live cash games but when i play online i dont care whatsoever.
