Default Play donk and you win, play poker and you loose?

Why is that? AA loose against J2s . KK loose against J5s even with high raise pre-flop or pot-bets or more post-flop. Are Pokersites cheating or why is that? That should be the new style? Bingo instead of serious Poker?

OP buy hold'em manager and track your results with the big pairs and see how many times you truly get sucked out on by a donk move with a J5. My guess would be over the long run (10k hands or so) you win money with them or find a hole in how you play them (i.e. unable to fold on bad boards, letting too many people see the flop, etc).

Default the right question, but the wrong answer

I played like a donk last night (down to 3 left), but I had to go to bed.
    I still finished 1st.
I played pretty solid for 90% of the game, then donkness struck.
I got lucky most of the time.
We are gambling, and if a player has called you, they probably have outs as well.
It's ok to fold. I folded A10 5x, just wasn't in the position to call the raises or make a risky raise. I got beat with AA 2x in the tourney.

Go and play right now, I bet you will win.

btw - what are you saying irish?

didn't notice that this was a cash game forum until after the post, my event was a mtt tourney, sorry

    Default Micro Stakes poker

You didn't specify what stakes you're playing, but it sounds like micro stakes (i.e. .05/.10 or less). I find it common among low stakes players to play bad starting hands, especially in the blinds, to try to get lucky. Even a 3x BB raise (to .30) isn't high enough to drive out them out. I was playing a $2 Bounty tourney yesterday and early on I raised like 40% of my stack preflop w/AA expecting folds, but got pushed all-in by K 10 , and the guy got runner, runner, runner, runner for a straight. I was beside myself - but that's low stakes poker - even low stakes tourney poker. The sites aren't cheating.

The other posters are right that in the long run you'll come out ahead, but I find just moving up to .10/.25 or higher stakes makes a BIG difference. A raise there preflop is at least .75 - $1.00 and those players just don't gamble on J2 or J5. Better players play higher stakes and more traditional play. [And play at least $5 buy-ins for tourneys]. You'll find the play more like you expect.
If you always stop while you're ahead, you'll never lose.

Getting it in as a 80+% favourite isnt even common in mid+ stakes games, often times you will be in as like 60-70% against his range if you are lucky, stop whining :P BTW how does someone go runner runner runner runner if its all in pre? :/ Or ever

it's hard to say what i think you want to hear, but this is poker, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the more flops you see the more hands you can win with. like the way off two pair: your J2 or J5 will randomly hit the doard.
that is why you need to know when to bet hard; when to play your cards and against who; when to fold them - the most important. sometimes you have to muck a hand when your not 99% sure you have the nutz. no matter how good you are there will be those unavoidable losses.
i refer to the dunks as maniacs. so if your playing against a maniac "beware" play top hands and don't go allin against them since they'll call you with anything. don't chase a hand either if you can help it, i know the pot odds look good while your chasing but if you don't hit more than likely you won't be able to get them off the hand either.
but this is only like every thing else in poker adjusted to your table , ring or tournament, the opponents your playing, and the table image your trying to project. there's many variables to take into account. they can be planned prior if it's a regular tourny you play or you can watch for awhile and get a feel of how to proceed with your game plan. you have to be flexable and be able to adapt, also this may something maybe against your game plan.
you have to be ready at all times for all circumstances that are all part of the game of poker. and this my friend is just a little part of the reason why HE mostly then follows other games of poker are so popular. the never ending trials and triumps, and the constant diversity of are beloved game.

Many players at the micro levels are not serious about getting better at poker and are there just to blow of steam or play for fun....Hopefully, this is where our profit comes from...I understand the frustration but I would like to get AA in with J2 anytime, even if you get drawn out on or take a bad beat sometimes.
