Default Ever Wonder How to play AA pre-flop so people dont fold

There are many ways you can play AA pre-flop, but this is the one that I think works the most and will get you the most chips and money if playing ring games.

Ok lets say you are playing 9 handed MTT the buy-in was $30 dollars. You have 20,000 in chips
You are dealt AA and you are "under the gun". (the first player to act) this is my favorite pos. because you can control the table. Of course with a monster like AA you raise, but don't raise more than 3x the big blind say the blinds were 200/400 i would raise 875 but no more than 1,000 because that will make your opponents fold in a heart beat. There are 2 people that call your raise, so know what do you do. Say the flop was Ks 2d 7c you are first to act so I would check hoping that your opponents got something in the flop,(keep in mind if your playing against good players they most likely wont play K7, but watch out for sets.) everyone checks,( if someone bet i would just call you want to disguise your hand.)the turn came 10h, your opponent put out a bet of 800 not a very big bet so In this situation consider raising or calling its really your choice if u think your opponent is trying to bluff at you I would just call you don't want to scare him/her off. Your other opponent folded, so you're now playing heads up. Most of the time if you are being aggressive heads up you will probably win it. This is not what you want to do in this situation, you want your opponent to do this so he just hands you free money.River 2c So he puts out a bet of 1250, he checked the flop, bet turn, and know bets river. In this situation I would raise to 3000 or consider moving all in hoping that he calls. Most of the time they will fold if you go all in, but if your playing against an ok player he will probably call with top pair.

I hope this helps Good Luck at the Tables

I have lost 3 of the last 4 times I had AA. I would be thrilled to buy the blind with it. YOU CANT SLOW PLAY ONLINE!

It is hard to check when UTG...usually the dealer demands you either call, fold, or raise. Let me know what site you play at where UTG can check.

Sounds like a 10 year old created this thread who also has the accumlated knowledge of one. Why someone would get into such detail for an explantion so poorly conceived is beyond me.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

Was playing on FTP tonight and I got AA in late pos. Moron right before me opens for 3.50 (BTW $100NL), I bump it to 12 just to end the action. He goes all-in for 65. I am stunned...and must call looking for KK or poss AK. This dork had AJs. He then proceeds to miracle a river straight. I sarcastically say "nice play". He says, "I knew you had AA" my response, "You must be a pro". He says ( I shipt you not) "Not a red pro, but FTP pays me to multi-tables", I ask follow up questions as to what he means and pays him how much, he says "for 4 tables for 10-12 hours a day I make about 10-12k". Other players at the table start picking this guy over. I had already looked him up, he was a minus-profit player. So I finished with him by saying, "So FTP pays you to push AJ into AA, then rivers you a straight...and you tell the whole table about it? You think they'll keep doing that even though we'll all leave and go to P-stars where the game wouldn't be 'rigged' ?" He ended up donking off most of his money rather quickly, which I took advantage of.

Lots of funny people at the tables.

yes, you are correct...the pesky dealers are always pissy when i check...I meant "call" but I think you probably know that.

I only slow play aa from early position, and if I dont get a raise I am careful. When I do get a raise (90% of the time) I pound a massive reraise. I either get a call or a fold and I am happy with each. I guess you are happy getting the blinds?? Open it up a little.
