    Default Omaha Hi/Lo question

Probably a dumb question but here goes

If the deck is A2345, can I assume whoever goes to showdown will split the lo pot?

The reason I ask is I was in this situation earlier with the nuts hi hand which was split with one other player in a 3 way pot and I got zero for the lo hand so I end up losing. The only thing that makes any sense is the villain who won the lo pot was holding an ace

Sounds like you had high and he had high and low. Good thing it was 3 handed you would have lost more if heads up chop.

you have to use 2 cards from your hand to make low or high hand. You can't use all 5 from board.

As Boilermaker said, You must use 2 of your hole cards and 3 from the board. Unlike Hold Em, you can't just play the board.

No, in omaha you have to use 2 cards no matter what so the community cards equalling 12345 does not count as your low unless you have 2 of those cards.

Remember you always will have to use 2 cards so the 1 card flush or straight is out of the question.

He doesnt have to have 2 of those cards to have a low he could also hold any 2 cards including 6,7, or 8.

True. A player can have the nuts low hand and win the pot in this example by holding any two of the cards A,2,3,4 or 5 since the missing three cards will be covered by the board. And any two cards between A and 8 will make a low.
