    Default Laying down pocket pairs

You probably hear this all the time... You need to know when to lay down your pocket pair when you know your beat.

Well, today I was playing on Full Tilt. I was roughly around 10k and I got into a pot with another heavy chip stack at the table.

Now I pick up jacks in the BB and I get the LP raising to 180 so I reraised to 560 and the SB goes all in with about 1500.. Now I get the LP reraising me to 2500 roughly.

I think for a while and I am pretty sure he has aces but I decide not to fold because he has raised like that with nothing before. The flop comes with no over cards so even though I put him on aces I still pushed all in, of course he calls instantly with aces.

How can I get away from this, even if I know I am beat it is just so hard to lay it down.

I'm a bit confused by your post, I'm guessing you meant you were SB and BB pushed all in before LP re-raised?

You didn't say what the blinds were so I'll hazard a guess at 30/60 and it's still early in the game. LP put in a standard raise of 3 x BB which could be construed as a steal. Your re-raise against a bigstack showed strength, if LP doesn't have the goods he can easily get away now as he wouldn't want to get involved with air against another bigstack. The fact he re-raised and didn't shove showed further strength. Personally I'm happy to fold here. I've still got plenty of chips and there will be better situations where I'm not risking my tourney life. There's also the added bonus that you'll see his cards as he's still heads-up vs shortstack, valuable information for later.

Sometimes you have to trust your judgement, if you think you're beat, you probably are beat.
