Default Live Poker Hands Per Hour

What is your experience on live poker hands per hour compared to online cash games? In our home games without a dedicated dealer but using 2 decks so that one is shuffled and ready to be used when hand is over, we get in around 20-30 hand per hour. As a rough estimate that would be 3 times slower than online.

I've never really paid attention to hands per hour when playing live poker in a casino with a professional dealer. Maybe next time I'll bring a note pad with me and start clocking the dealers

Has anybody been counting live poker hands per hour in a casino?

I have never counted while playing, but have kind of kept track by how many orbits. Usually it is about 30 hands per hour. I think that is usually the standard when it comes to casinos.

Next time I go, I'll take a notepad and keep track and let you know. I've also wondered this about the home games I play in, so I'll figure that one out by tomorrow night.

Last game we had was probably roughly about 40 hands/hr, but we were short handed (Only 4 of us playing) so it went around faster. It depends I guess on how many people you have as to how many hands you can fit in within an hour's time. Also if you play timed games with a timer clock...we did that out of boredom one day with an egg timer...everyone had 5 seconds to act lol It was a lot of fun.

I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

Much slower; I agree, 30 hands per hour. Also, much more enjoyable...

Depends on the Casino for Live play. At Beau Rivage in Biloxi, seeing 35-40 hands an hour at a full table is not unheard of. All those dealers are fast! but Harrah's in NOLA, I am happy to be getting 30 hands an hour, mainly because low quality of dealers there. one dealer dealt 10 hands in her 30 minutes at our table.
I just won $50 from you, that you could have used, to buy food, but you can't now!

With 2 decks and 6-7 people, I just spent the last 3.5 hours averaging 20 hands per hour. Playing around 70 hands in a night kind of sucks.
