Default FTP has true micro-limits now

I was reading through my junk mail account, which is where I get my FTP emails. I saw an email from them and it mentioned $0.01/$0.02NL so I figured that I had to see it for myself.

Sure enough, there are the $2NL and $5NL tables. I only have $11 on FTP but that's plenty to check out those tables. I jumped on one with $1 just to check it out.

So far, it's not bad. A little tighter than the $2NL you find at PS but that might just be the table I picked. The players are your standard crap players though. I will play a few more hands and see how it is. Expect me to post a more complete rant about these new tables later.

    I love the super-micro stakes.

Also, they changed their micro-limit rake... it's no longer 10%. Now it's 6.7% but that's still a lot better than it was. It makes them marginally less offensive to me now.

Alright, I played 160 hands across two tables of their $2NL. And the play was as horrible as you expect at that limit.

I even managed to turn a 73c profit after being massively 2-outered. I had a full house, he had an open-ended straight flush draw. We got all-in on the turn. He rivered the nuts. That's fine though. I was able to get most of it back from him on later hands and did turn a profit for the session.

It's fun but I am sure the 6.7% rake will add up quickly and I don't have rakeback on FTP. Still, it's nice to see that they're opening to the micro players a bit more. And they've cut down on the rake-punishment a little.

however, unfortunately now they've started raking the 10c/25c games at 50c rather than $1, so the rake is a little higher at those limits now

good to see they've dropped the rake on the 5c/10c though, 10% was ridiculous.

Here is some proof that all $2NL plays pretty much the same

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (5 handed)

    saw flop | saw showdown

    UTG ($2.70)
    MP ($4.45)
    Button ($1.32)
    Hero (SB) ($1.41)
    BB ($2)

Preflop: Hero is SB with ,
UTG calls $0.02, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.01, BB bets $0.06, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.04

    Flop: ($0.14) , , (2 players)
    Hero checks, BB checks

    Turn: ($0.14) (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.04, Hero calls $0.04

    River: ($0.22) (2 players)
    Hero bets $0.15, BB raises to $1.90 (All-In), Hero calls $1.16 (All-In)

    Total pot: $2.84 | Rake: $0.18

    Results:
Hero had A, 10 (straight, Ace high).
BB had Q, J (two pair, Queens and Jacks).
    Outcome: Hero won $2.66

The only real part I love about this hand is the huge shove on the end. I mean how can he expect to ever get value from a play like that?
