Another forum I belong to recently had a memorial tournament for a member(CSMRON) who had passed away. This freeroll tourney was put on by 2 of his closest friends, and I was lucky enough to be invited. There were over 300 people invited and CSMRON was also registered by his friends.

As the tourney was played, I noticed that CSMRON's chip stack was not changing, so I went to observe the table for a while. The people that played at his table had decided early in the tourney to make sure CSMRON was there as long as possible. They all folded their hands to him, when he was in the BB, no matter what they had. I've never seen anything like it. CSMRON stuck around for a long time, and actually made it to the money. This was the greatest show of respect and sportsmanship I have ever seen by a group of players.

Poker is a wonderful and very competitve game, but this just shows that sometimes, it is just that- a game. Occasionally you will see things that make the game seem small and insignificant.

RIP Ron, you will be greatly missed.
