Default Checking down the absolute Nuts

I'm sorry, but no matter how badly I "wanted to show" a hand, I swear, I will never check down a royal flush if I'm last to act.
What makes this even better is player 2 had started playing overly aggressively, and Player 1 said he was going to catch him. How do you miss the opportunity to bet a royal flush!?

that's retarded. if you want to show it that bad, show it after he folds.

Wow, that's bad. You can show a hand if the guy folds, and he could have value bet the river and more than likely would have gotten paid and had to show anyway.

He wasn't disconnected. I watched this hand go down, and he checked and chatted afterwards about the hand.

I'm sure he thought the other guy had trip 10's in the hole, beating his royal flush. It's a very understandable play by his part to check.
