    Default Question about earning expectation

I am playing on Absolute Poker and play generally NL .50/1.00, I play 6 tables usually at a time. I am overall a winning player live and in tournaments and just started playing cash online. My question is, What is a realistic earning amount per day playing 6 tables at this level. I buy in for 80.00 generally at each table. I've set a goal of 100.00 a day for 6 hours of play. Is this realistic or am I selling myself short. My goal with rakeback is to clear 4500 a month.

    Thanks for your assistance..

I don't know the type of player you are but if you're a solid player you should expect to make anywhere between 2BBs-4BBs per 100 hands (using PokerTracker's definition of BB/100 hands).

So let's say you're a decent player and you expect to earn 2BB/100 hands. You're playing 6 tables at once and in 6 hour blocks, which equals to $144 per session. 2BB/100 hands is definitely attainable if you're a pretty solid player.

If you're playing no limit then you might fluctuate and have losing sessions here and there but in the long run let's say over 20k hands, if you're at a win rate of 2-4BB/100 then you should be doing well.

If you're crushing those levels then you can expect to earn somewhere in the neighborhood of 5BB-10BB/100 hands. Anything over that then you should be moving up stakes.

    Hope this helps.

First of all I think you should be buying in at 100bb to get max value out of your hands. If your bankroll doesn't allow it then you should move down levels. At above stated, if you're a winning player, you should make about 6-8bb/100 hands. With 6 tables, you can probably expect to play about 500 hands per hour, less if you're playing full ring. This would be around 3000 hands per day, for a total of $180-240 per day. There will obviously be days where you lose, and days where you make much more, that would be an average if you can sustain and average winrate of 6-8bb per hour.

Why do you only sit in with 80bb?

I only sit with 80 because I thought that was a good buy in for 1 NL. I've noticed that most players buy in between 45-120, So I just picked an average number. My bankroll only is around 3k online but i can reload b/c I have about 10k active that I keep for live tournaments here in Vegas. I live in Las Vegas. I play mostly 100-500.00 dollar tournaments.

I can handle playing bigger stakes, like 1/2 but I figured I should try and beat the 1 nl games first before moving up. I have been a successful tourney player for almost 5 years but am transitioning to cash to help with the variance, and to get rakeback.

I do appreciate the feedback, so far I am down 560.00 over 8k hands, But I have been crushing omaha the last few days, up almost 1900.00 at 1/2 pl level with 100 buyin (buy short, try to build a stack)

No limit cash is obv. diff. to tournaments, and I am trying to make the adjustment. I've taken some bad beats the last few days that put me at a 500.00 downswing after be up but I know that is probably variance. After reviewing my HH on Pokertracker 3 I am happy with my play.

    Thanks for the advice.

i used to make roughly $15-20 an hour playing your limit, i found it very profitable and really found that to be the easiest limit i played. 1-2 PL OH was definitely my most profitable game, sometimes making several hundred dollars in a day on it. But it was also very swingy and finding a good game on it was very difficult.

as for your buyin. I personally like picking a random number when i sit down to a table, especially heads up. This makes you seem like a less skilled player than u are and u get more action as a result. when i worked my way thru the limits, i sat with 60 BB's usually. Nowadays I like to sit with 100, and I am working on building a new roll on absolute and ftp as my old site (pokerroom) no longer allows american players. So I have been out of the game for a while but so far its going well.
