wait for aces in a tournament and chances are you will be knocked out as well.

while i agree that all in with ak in the early stages of the tournament is not a very good play. As the tournament progresses and the blinds and antes get up there u should be happy to push all in with ak. everyone might fold, you might get a weaker ace to call, and it is very unlikey that you will be less than a slight dog.

it's a good move to raise with ak, but shoving is dumb unless you're short stacked. you're only getting called if you're behind to a pair. and you could be crushed by aces or kings. not a very profitable move. if the blinds are that big, most players will fold to 3x bb just as soon as they will to an all in.

My case in point

Today I played in a tourney, did very well, building a stack of 17k, and being patient as can be..a small pot of about 4k goes all in before me, action folds to me, I have, guese what? AK...I call, plr shows 22, gets
10..2..J on the flop..nice set 4 him, open chance for me to get a strait..turn Q, I'm in bussines..river 2.....4x2
he dubbles up on me..

Next hand I get,,guese what ..AJ..I deside all in..get called by donk big stack..he shows 3 7..I almost cried with LOL...not for long though..flop..you guesed it 3 3 7...

My own experience today shows that if I played like a poker player, I would have CALLED the blinds the second time, and folded to a big bet on the flop, because I've DONE it when I was still building my stack..
