Default Kathy Leibert: Final Table WPT BAY 101

Kathy Leibert has made the Final Table of 6 players at the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Tournament in San Jose, California. This tournament format had 50 "Shooting Stars" -- pro players with bounties on their head. Many, many well-known players entered . Anyone who busted them received $5,000 and a custom t-shirt that the hunted player had to autograph. Here's the full line-up and chip count:

The WPT Final Table starts at 4:00 pm PT on March 20, 2009:

    1. Chris Moore - 1,476,000
    2. Thao Le - 711,000
    3. Steve Brecher - 2,016,000
    4. Tony Behari - 2,046,000
    5. Kathy Liebert - 1,180,000
    6. Chau Vu - 352,000

This is Kathy Liebert's sixth WPT final table. You can follow online at www [dot] worldpokertour [dot] com. I like to read the online blogs. And I like Leibert as a player.

Your going to be so jealous then. I went to Bay yesterday and got a reserved ticket to the Final Table!

And Steve Brecher had a TON if chips at one point. I saw the AA v. KK hand where he was 2nd in chips with 1.2m and went against the chip leader with 1.35m. Had a little over 2.4m, and 2nd place had around 1m. So he just sat back and watched the action while Kathy was controling the action (winning 5 pots in a row at one point in a 4-handed game)

Matt Savage gave me one of his Reserved seats and I have to be their early for the taping of the Final Table. I even got Kathy's autograph on a deck of cards that was specially made for the Shooting Stars tournament and can't be bought anywhere.

I will be on T.V. shouting: "GO RAKEBACK! I MEAN KATHY!" Haha, just kidding. I post my pics of the ticket later.

Gamer, have I told you lately that I hate you? LOL Just kidding, but I am totally green with envy right now...

See? Now if Rakeback had gear to promote the site, Gamer would be sporting a Rakeback Teeshirt and we would know who he was and pick him out of the crowd on TV!

Oh well, I've still got the Rakeback hat I had specially made, so if I ever get on TV someplace, you'll find me pretty easy LOL

I see you talking but all I hear is blah blah blah

Yeah, I am jealous. Watching the final table should be awesome. And Kathy has enough chips to play pots and win without having to push like a short stack. You should make a hat or t-shirt that says 'Rakeback.com' so we'll recognize you on TV !

I was watching the action on monday and tuesday. Phil Hellmuth left in the middle of the tournament to go to starbucks and the driving range while he was getting blinded off LOL. Matusow called him and was like phil you got 11,000 in chips.... you have been gone for an hour! get your ass back here. So he came back and busted out quickly LMAO My next door neighbor went to college with phil laak and is good friends with him so I talked to phil for a bit too.

Default Kathy Liebert Takes 2nd at Bay 101

Kathy Leibert and Steve Brecher managed to make it to heads up play yesterday at the Bay Shooting Stars 101 Tournament with these chip counts:

    Steve Brecher - 5,540,000
    Kathy Liebert - 2,280,000

The key moment came with three players remaining in Hand #178, when Brecher was all in preflop with AQ against Kathy's AK. The board came KJ5107, and Brecher doubled into the chip lead with an ace-high straight. If Liebert's dominating hand held up there, Brecher would have busted third, and Liebert would have had a 2.3-to-1 chip lead over Chris Moore.

In HU play, there seemed to be a lot of little to medium sized pots that wittled her down to a short stack and she had to call all-in w/Q T. Brecher had pushed with A 9. The board didn't improve Kathy's hand and she won $550,000.00. Steve Brecher won the 2009 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star, earning $1,025,500.

A WPT record was set with the most hands played at a final table.

Oh man, I remember that hand. If she had won that hand, she would have had a 2.5:1 chip lead on the amature. Yet, it all came down to luck and she had the worst end of it. You should have seen the crowd. We all screamed when we saw the hands. And the flop. But the turn came out and EVERYONE moaned and gasped.

She made a GREAT comeback. She would throw punches in the air whenever the crowd got crazy and started chanting for her. It was a lot of fun.

I had a chance to talk to the amature and he said that he is just hanging in their for dear life because he didn't have any reads on them. And we even set the record for most number of hands played at a final table for the WPT with 319. When it was 3-handed it felt like limit holdem because it went on for SO long without any all-in's.

I am going to upload my pics and video's soon. Took a video of the money presentation. Poor dragon guys were sleeping before the show. They got their at 6 p.m. (I got their at 3 p.m.) and they didn't go on until around 4 a.m. ish. I was their for 13 hours! And the players were playing for 12 hours... Two more hours and we would have set the record for longest final table also.
