Default The Ultimate Freeroll v. 2

Thats right, I am going to try and do the ultimate freeroll again this year. But this time, it's going to be for the FTOPS XII H.E.R.O.S. Event. It will be held on Tuesday, may 12th at 21:00 EST (9:00 p.m. EST, 6:00 PST, my time). The event will be a $500 + $35 event with a guaranteed prize pool of $300k.

What I am going to try and do is just from freerolls, I will try and build up $535 to enter the tournament. If I fail to get that from freerolls, I will ask someone to sponsor me in the tourney. I do not expect to get sponsored because that is a lot of money.

I have won a 2,400 HORSE Freeroll, taken first in HORSE SnG's many times over, and have cashed in more HORSE tourneys that I have any other game that I have played. I have experience in all the games of HORSE (H.E.R.O.S. is what the mix is going to be), and am very confident in my skills if I am able to enter this tournament.

I am going to try and do this from freerolls because I do not have the money to put up for this tournament. And I am pretty sure that if I were to enter this tournament, that I would get far, if not, win it. If I am unable to get up to that amount (either busting my bankroll, or not making enough for it), then I will still have had free money to either play with, or have played with.

I will not be playing proper bankroll management because I will be trying to build up a bankroll and build it up fast. I will never risk my whole bankroll (unless that is all I have left), but I will be risking WAY more than I should be in order to try and accomplish this task. It's not an impossible feat, that is why I am going to try and accomplish it. If anyone wants to join me, that is great.

And not only am I going to try and start out with just freerolls, but I have limited time to play them because I work 8-5 and don't get home until 6:20. And some days I have night school and won't be able to play then.

Wish me luck in my journeys for the ultimate freeroll!

p.s. I will post the prizes once I am able to see them at home.

    Good Luck to you sir.

Just wondering, if you win money on the freerolls, will you be entering micro MTTs to build BR further?

Yes, I will be entering MTT's, and SnG's to build up a bankroll.

I was just informed that FTP will be having a new feature to their FTOPS events, and it's called the MFTOPS (Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series)! It's the same structure of the FTOPS events, but for 1/10th the buy-in!

I now have a new goal: To either play in the Big H.E.R.O.S. FTOPS Event, play in the the MFTOPS H.E.R.O.S. Event, or (this is the one I will be going for) play in both the MFTOPS and the FTOPS H.E.R.O.S.'s Events. That is $590 total for the last one.

The MFTOPS H.E.R.O.S. event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $30k. Once I get up to $155, I will register for the MFTOPS event. That will leave me with $100 to try and earn $535 with. That way, I have a guaranteed seat into the MFTOPS event. And if I can not get enough money for the FTOPS event, then I can either play the MFTOPS one, or un-register and taky my chances at a last chance satellite (I am more than likely going to play the MFTOPS event).

Please note: This is called the ultimate freeroll mission for a reason. It is not impossible, just extremly hard because you need to be lucky, really good, lucky, experienced, lucky, dedicated, and lucky. Thus, making it a mission, not just a feat.

I am doing a self-made "steps" sort of thing on a couple of sites. And it's set-up so that once I am off level one, I am freerolling. No matter what happens, the worst I will be after a game is back to $0 (never negative after I leave level 1). The way I have it set up makes it a little hard to get off level 1 but I like that it's freerolling after that.

I'll grant, this isn't the same as what you are talking about because I am starting with money. But it's going to be fun. I've only made like 5 steps but the payout for the top is good enough for me. In your case, it would have to include more steps just because it wouldn't stretch to $500+ at my levels.

Just out of curiosity, what are you steps, and what to they involve? Like buy-in's, prizes, etc.

    Step 1: $1.20
    Step 2: $3.40
    Step 3: $5.50
    Step 4: $11.00
    Step 5: $22.00

1st place on step 5 is $90. You can only move up a step if you have enough profit to play it. And if you lose on a step, you drop down to the highest step you can afford. If you take second in steps 2 and 3... and lose step 4, you drop down to step 3 (for example). I have it all in a spreadsheet to do it automatically for me. I just look at the net amount on the bottom and that's the level I play on. The idea is to turn my $1.20 into at least $54 (I'll accept 2nd on step 5 as a win)... plus whatever builds up in change along the way.

It's just a fun little thing. Gives me an excuse to play outside my bankroll on that site without the risk of going broke. Only the risk of losing all the gains and starting back where I originally was.

As expected, I have no progress on my bankroll. I am basically gambling huge chunks of my every time I get a little something. So all I can do is hope for the best and play to the best of my ability.

Edit: Just cashed in the Ferguson Satellite. 2,700 people enter and it's a Super Turbo (blinds increase every 3 minutes, no antes, one break). Everyone starts with 1,500 chips and top 100 get 1 T$ (tournament dollar). It lasted exactly 1h 37m for me to make the money with 40k in chips. Once it hit 200 people left, everyone waited, took all their time in each hand to increase the odds of them making the money. So if you have a semi-decent stack, you have a pretty good chance of making the money, even with blinds at 3k/6k when the waiting started and it ended at 15k/30k.

So I do not expect to make the money every time, but I can make the money the majority of the time (from my previous experience playing freerolls left and right). So by the time May rolls around, I think I can make around T$15 - T$20. With that, I can enter a tourney (to try and get enough for the entry by either cashing or winning) and try to enter the MiniFTOPS HEROS event with that. I will still try and ask someone to sponsor me in the tourney, but all I have to show is one HORSE freeroll win and numerous HORSE SnG wins and cashes.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring/staking me, let me know either here or in PM. But until then, I will still be trying to enter that tourney. Wish me luck!

Edit2: Just realized that I would have to cash almost every day in order for me to get T$15 - T$20. So i will do this instead: every Saturday and or Sunday I will enter tournaments with my tourney winnings. If I cash (or even better, win) a tourney with a lot of people in it for a small buy-in. I could possibly have my buy-in for the MiniFTOPS event. So that could be something I can do once every week (for four weeks or so) I feel I will almost guarantee myself into the MiniFTOPS event. I will still try to enter the big FTOPS event, but I don't see that unless someone stakes me.

So I see myself entering the MiniFTOPS event on May 12th. Wish my luck all!

As for my quest for the ultimate freeroll, I have a BR of $120!

I entered a $4.44 tourney on PS. It was a Pot Limit Omaha H/L tourney with $1k guaranteed and 4-handed tables. About 370 people entered and I placed 4th for a little over $95. I wasn't cathing any cards at the final table and took some huge swings while being the chip leader. But none the less, I cashed big and now I just need to find a way to transfer this money over to FTP.

Final update: After keeping aside $55 for the Mini FTOPS Event and trying to use the $65 to have either the whole $500, or for a higher satellite, but gambling $10 at a time it was difficult. So my last chance to play in the big one is for someone to stake me. Wish me luck everyone!

No, I was talking about never risking my bankroll in the sense of trying to enter the tourney. If I have $60, I was going to enter the $55 MiniFTOPS event and have $5 to risk. That is what I ment by never risking my whole bankroll.
